D. Michael Coy, LCSW, LICSW, is a clinical social worker currently in independent practice in Chicago. Michael’s treatment interests include attachment trauma, pre-verbal trauma, addictions and compulsions, PTSD and complex PTSD, and disorders spanning the dissociative continuum, including Dissociative Identity Disorder. Most recently, Michael has developed a specialty in helping clients heal early, pre-verbal trauma in an intensive treatment format.

Michael is certified by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. Michael has been a member of EMDRIA’s Standards & Training Committee since June 2014. Michael also has Basic Training in Clinical Hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
