Amiche e amici,sono felice che siate di ritorno o che vi troviate per la prima volta in queste pagine, in queste onde sonore.
In questo podcast come sapete cerco sempre di ragionare sulla fotografia, sugli autori e sugli strumenti, ma anche sulle idee e sulla filosofia che fanno della fotografia un arte così affine all’essere umano.
D’altra parte, con ogni probabilità, la fotografia è la forma di espressione potenzialmente artistica più praticata nella storia dell’umanità.
Oggi quindi vi voglio proporre una puntata del podcast nella quale provo ad analizzare il rapporto molto forte che lega la fotografia alla nostalgia, un sentimento intrinsecamente umano e intrinsecamente legato alle immagini create con gli obiettivi.
Lo spunto per realizzare questa puntata mi è arrivato leggendo questa newsletter di Susanne Helmert, ma penso di aver allargato il discorso con tutti quei pensieri in proposito che mi mi frullavano nella testa già da un po’.

Amici, fare questa puntata del podcast mi è costato molto, poiché fin dalla prima volta in cui mi sono imbattuto in questo titanico, meraviglioso, lavoro di Denna Dikeman non posso fare a meno di commuovermi ogni volta che ci penso.
Mi sono quindi chiesto se fosse il caso di mostrarmi così fragile, ma alla fine penso ne sia valsa la pena.
Leaving and waving, infatti, è un vero e proprio capolavoro che scava dentro ognuno di noi nel modo più semplice e potente possibile, vale a dire parlandoci di quel minimo comun denominatore che ci unisce tutti inesorabilmente.
Un progetto durato 27 anni. Quasi tre decenni durante i quali succede la vita e tra un saluto ed un addio il mondo cambia intorno ad un nucleo centrale che appare quasi immutabile, ma che immutabile non è.

Care amiche e amici,oggi una puntata di Fuori OTNOL frizzante ed estiva ma non per questo meno interessante. Almeno spero.L’argomento è: qual è il modo migliore per fruire delle fotografie?
Per provare a capirlo e a ragionarci sopra ho pensato di presentarvi la mia personalissima classifica dei 6 modi migliori per godersi al meglio le fotografie ed imparare da esse.
Nella puntata passerò in rassegna social network, siti web dedicati, riviste di fotografia, mostre ed esposizioni, stampe fine art, libri fotografici etc etc.
Per ognuna di queste 6 categorie, vi illustrerò i pro e i contro in modo da circonstanziare le mie scelte (che comunque sono inconfutabili :) ).
E voi che ne pensate? Qual è il metodo di fruizione goduriosa che preferite?

Ciao amiche e amici,
sono passati tre mesi. Lo so. È un sacco di tempo. Tempo in cui spero che abbiate potuto scattare foto, svilupparle, stamparle, leggere libri, vedere immagini.Nutrirvi insomma.
Ora però, OTNOL è di nuovo qui. Spero siate felici di questo o quantomeno… curiosi.
Per ripartire ho pensato di realizzare una puntata che avevo in mente fin dall’inizio del progetto ma che non ho mai avuto il coraggio di registrare per tema di non essere all’altezza della storia.
Ieri sera però, cosí, de botto, senza senso, mi sono detto: “ora o mai più”, ho acceso il microfono e mi sono messo a parlare di Gerta Pohorylle, in arte Gerda Taro.
Ogni tanto i cani abbaiavano (li sentirete in lontananza), ogni tanto perdevo il filo del discorso (come sempre), ogni tanto le parole mi uscivano strane, ma penso di averla portata a casa.
Immagino che Gerda la conosciate in tanti. È stata la prima fotografa a coprire una guerra ed è stata, purtroppo, anche stata la prima a morire nel farlo.
Death in the making.
Aveva ideali, aveva uno stile, aveva coraggio, aveva visione del futuro e nella polvere del campo di battaglia di Brunete, il 25 luglio 1937, mettendo insieme tutto questo ha trovato una morte terribile e prematura.
Aveva anche un compagno: un certo Robert Capa che prima di essere solo l’alter ego di Andrè Friedman è stato anche il suo alter ego, un avatar, un profilo di coppia, un inganno per il bene, un’invenzione alla facciazza di Joan Fontcuberta.
In questa puntata quindi parleremo della vita di Gerda. Delle sue foto. Della sua morte. È una storia triste, ma è una storia che vale la pena raccontare.
Ah! e c'è una canzone degli Alt-J, "Taro", che parla di lei. È una bella canzone. Parleremo anche di questo.

In questo giorno inusuale il podcast, in questa puntata troppo personale e forse troppo lunga vi voglio raccontare di quella volta che ho fatto una cosa che avrei dovuto fare anni fa ma che sono contento di aver fatto almeno ora: aprire il mio OnlyFans.
Posso affermare senza problemi che sia stata una decisione a dir poco saggia, ma se vi va di ascoltare vi assicuro che capirete davvero le motivazioni che mi mi spingono a fotografare e quelle che mi hanno convinto ad aprire OnlyFans.Credo che in questa puntatina ci siano vari concetti, idee, paure e verità comuni a tanti di noi che viviamo con una macchina fotografica sempre a portata di mano perchè ci fa stare bene e quindi spero possa essere utile a qualcuno.

Oggi dipaneremo una delle questioni più antiche dell’espressione artistica. Una di quelle diatribe senza vincitori che appassionano, moderatamente, un manipolo di un gruppetto di una nicchia di una certa tipologia di appassionati di fotografia ed arte in generale.
Sì. Sto parlando di noi e certo: sto parlando della differenza tra stile e creatività, qualora non fosse chiaro dal titolo dell’articolo e dalla copertina che letteralmente riporta la scritta “STILE vs CREATIVITÀ“.
Io non credo di essere riuscito a dare una risposta conclusiva sula questione, ma nel tempo (visto che queste sono proprio le questioni su cui mi arrovello quando mi accorgo di non avere abbastanza problemi) ho trovato un equilibrio di giudizio ed ho anche formato un’opinione alquanto netta in merito.
La puntata di oggi nasce da questa opinione e spero possa essere di vostro interesse.

Amici e amiche, grazie per accogliere anche questa mia non newsletter nelle vostre caselle di posta.Sembra poco, ma non lo è! Soprattutto non è scontato.Cosí come non sono pochi e non sono scontati i poteri taumaturgici della fotografia.
Per questa puntata del podcast e l'idea mi è venuta già qualche mese fa, ma ho atteso per poter approfondire e per chiarirmi le idee. Sono giunto ad alcune conclusioni che mi sembrano sensate, ma fatemi sapere cosa ne pensate. Magari esagero.Vi faccio qualche esempio che poi nella puntata vera e propria spiego molto meglio:
* La fotografia potrebbe essere utilizzata (seguiti da professionisti) per migliorare la propria condizione mentale.
* Attraverso la fotografia è possibile modificare il modo in cui le persone percepiscono quello che le circonda.
* La fotografia può essere un modo per favorire la conoscenza reciproca tra culture e promuovere la bellezza della diversità
* Si può usare la fotografia per modificare la percezione del proprio corpo in modo anche positivo, non solo come spesso accade negativamente.
* La fotografia è un mezzo straordinario per raccontare e potenzialmente risolvere i problemi di ingiustizia sociale anche nel proprio vicinato, non per forza dall' altra parte del mondo
* La fotografia è un formidabile strumento didattico
* La fotografia ci permette di esprimerci
* La fotografia è un modo per connetterci alla memoria e aiutarci a comprendere il passato
