Welcome to episode 16 of the Once Lost Now Proud podcast "Bad health to Fitness Wealth."
For as long as I can remember, I've found myself having a love and hate relationship with fitness, but mostly love as I find it really helps clear my mind when I've had a few shitty days. So I wanted to speak with someone that for over 25 years, has been wholly committed to their fitness. In today's episode, I talk with Lucy Clark from LC Inspired fitness about how and why she consistently works out every day without fail.
I was intrigued. What is the secret sauce to loving fitness?
Lucy has faced severe health issues, and with that came advice from health professionals on what she could and couldn't do. As you will hear, that was a red flag to a bull, and all that advice did was spur Lucy on to take her fitness and wellbeing to another level whilst taking others along on that wellbeing journey with her.

In today's episode, I am speaking with the lovely Lisa king. Lisa is a TEDx speaker, mentor, author and overall a kind-hearted, motivated lady and someone who doesn't suffer fools, and when you hear her story, you'll understand why.
Lisa and I talk of abandonment, rape, relationships and, unfortunately, suicide. The real story here is how Lisa managed to find self-love and pave her way to be the unmasked woman she is today. Lisa is determined to make a difference and give us a helping hand along the way.
I know that there is so much more to come from Valentine-King. If you haven't listened to Tina's podcast, which it's episode 13 against all odds, then I highly recommend you do because then you'll realise how special it is for these two souls to have come together; I do not doubt their success; they're an absolute powerhouse.

In today's episode, I'm speaking with the lovely Christiana Valentine.
As you'll hear from my intro, this story was a difficult one to listen to and then when I edited it, I found myself wondering what it must have been like in Christina's position at those times in her life, and quite frankly, it's impossible to comprehend.
I have to pre-warn you that we talk of child abuse, both physical and sexual, paedophilia, heartbreak, mental health, and suicide. But we also speak of success and survival at its best; this is difficult to listen to, but the outcome is the most encouraging one.
As you'll hear, Christina is a multi-award winner, inspirational speaker, author and much more, and her daughter Daisy is a very talented artist.
Remember that no matter how many curveballs you get thrown in life, you have to get up, dust yourself off and carry on the journey to becoming something pretty awesome, and let me tell you, Christina and Daisy are on the path to greatness.

In today's episode, I'm talking to the very talented musician Leon Bratt.
If you've not heard of Leon before then, this is going to be an absolute treat for you as he performs three songs that have really impacted his life so far. Leon talks of how he had to challenge himself in the pandemic to be the best he can, to how he met the freestyle rap artist Harry Mack and not only performed with Harry but also collaborated with him on his new single Remedy, which is being released on 18th June.
I first handedly witnessed Leon's talent 4 years ago at my local pub on a Saturday afternoon. It seems like a distant memory now, but I remember how much I enjoyed his performance and how he encapsulated everyone in the room with all his different genres of music; I remember thinking what a true talent he was.
About a year into the pandemic, Leon popped up on my social feed promoting himself on a streaming platform called Twitch. At the time, I had zero idea what twitch was and carried on following him, enjoying the music he was uploading to his Instagram and youtube.
One evening I found myself looking into the streaming platform for my own business when I remembered Leon was on there, and at that time, he was live streaming; I honestly wanted to jump around the room and cheer in excitement, one, because I felt I was back in the pub that day enjoying his vibe and reminiscing and two because he had hundreds of thousands of people all over the world which were watching with me.
Here I am, 4 years later, interviewing Leon, because not only do I love his music, but I was fascinated to understand how he had got this far in such a short space of time on a social platform like Twitch. I wanted to know how he found his way when the pandemic ultimately impacted all his income and life as he once knew it.
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did.

When I started this podcast journey, I had a list of subjects I wanted to cover: Mental health, PTSD, drug and alcohol abuse.
I wanted to explore the possibilities of alternative cures which were more effective than those offered by our healthcare system and big pharma companies.
A few months ago, I was introduced to Keith Abraham; he served our country in the parachute regiment in Iraq and Afghanistan. With war came some harsh experiences that led to him suffering from PTSD, mental health, and alcohol abuse.
In this episode, Keith talks of his personal struggles and how a Shaman and psychedelic treatment saved his life and allowed him to be at peace, and with this new found freedom Keith is helping others through his charity Heroic Hearts Project UK
If you enjoyed Keith's story, then please head over to Heroic Hearts Project UK to check out the great work Keith and his team carry out. If you would like to help the cause, I'm sure they would welcome any donations to the charity to help other veterans, police or emergency workers to provide the treatment they need. Donate Here
As Keith explains, Dr Robin Carhart-Harris and Prof David Nutt still have a considerable debate on their hands despite the proof and scientific facts to get this legalised in the UK.
Let's educate ourselves and others and support them in their venture.
If you are considering looking at psychedelic treatment, Keith has kindly shared his contact details below, and will help and advise where we can.

In today's episode, I will be speaking with Eddie Adams about part two of his life story. I think you will all be amazed at his outlook on life, his strength and I'm still astounded at his positive hilarious nature that is just infectious.
After listening and speaking to Eddie in person, I was completely overwhelmed by his honesty about how he felt about death. I'm not sure how we would all feel if we were given a timeline on life, and we knew we potentially had, 7,8,9 months left to live.
I want everyone who listens to this podcast to take a leaf from Eddie's book and live for every second and every moment you can, be you, fight hard for what you want, be heard and be proud.
As Eddie mentioned, the government only funds 1% of the budget to brain tumour research and offers no other clinical trials at this stage, which is ludicrous considering brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.

In today's episode, I'm interviewing Eddie Adams, and some of you may know him by his stage name, "Eddie OK Adams."
He has graced us with his presence as one of the first and most original drag queens of the UK, and as you will hear, his originality started very young and continues to this day.
Eddie talks of how he came out as gay, how he got into the drag industry, his political views, his good, bad and indifferent experience with relationships, and what it was like for him growing up and being different to what some might say was the norm.
Eddie has had many curves balls and actual bricks and bottles thrown at him in life, but what I love is his willingness to carry on no matter what life throws at him.
This story is separated into two parts because this story deserves that and because before Eddie's life was turned upside down in 2017, he's lived an extraordinary life that we should all pay attention to.
I think you'll agree that we can all learn a thing or two from Eddie, I can promise you, if you get nothing else, you'll laugh and that's good for the soul, Eddie is good for your soul, so press play and have a listen to Part one of Glam to Damn.

In part two of this episode, Katie talks about life after Garry, justice, or some would say lack of it, the judgement of others and finding love again.
As you will hear, Katie is a genuine and one very passionate woman.
I've thoroughly enjoyed speaking with Katie, and I'm delighted that she chose to be happy again.
Also, last but certainly not least, a massive thank you to the Road Victims Trust and to "Gavin the councillor" for saving helping Katie and being there for others in her position; what you do is selfless and amazing. (please reach out for that parachute jump, I'm well up for that)
In support of Katie, Violet and Garry, and to enable the road victims trust to carry out their great work, we welcome you to donate to Katie's charity, the Road victims Trust, who have helped her move forward with life after Garry. MAKE A DONATION HERE https://www.justgiving.com/rvtrust
The once lost now proud listeners, and I wish you Katie, Owen and your beautiful family all the happiness in this next chapter of your lives.

Today's episode is an interview with Katie Holmes. In Part 1 of this episode, Katie talks about her younger years in band camp and finishing school, being caught up in drug addiction, how she and her partner battled mental health, the experiences of being a new mummy, and then losing the love of her life.
From meeting Katie 8 years ago, I was utterly intrigued by how she dealt with all the sudden changes in her life, how Garry's death had impacted her and her daughter, and if she felt she could ever really move on again.
As you will hear throughout part 1 and 2, there has been a constant fight in both hers and Garry's life. Garry fought to better his mental health to enable him to be the best partner and father he could be. Katie fought her own demons and fought for their relationship. They fought for their daughter, Katie fought for justice and fought again for love.
If you get anything out of this interview, it's proof that, the fight is real, and it's not easy, but it's worth it.
In support of Katie, Violet and Garry, if you enjoyed this episode, we welcome you to donate to Katie's charity which is the Road victims Trust who have helped her move forward with life after Garry. https://www.justgiving.com/rvtrust
