Mental Monarchs began with two friends from Texas who found themselves sharing their personal stories from two different perspectives. One woman struggling to keep her mental health battle a secret, Maelia Salcines made herself vulnerable when she voiced her experience of struggling with depression and anxiety in front of an entire audience, the night she was crowned Miss RGV. The other working from inside the field as a Marriage and Family Therapist - Associate. Brooke Williamson graduated with a masters degree in Psychology and is currently working at Counseling Center of South Texas in Edinburg. Together, they founded ,Mental Monarchs and have made mental health their life purpose.
