  • 151. Too Young? Too Old? Ageism at Work
At some point in your career, you may have been told you were "too young" for certain responsibilites or "too set in your ways" to learn something new. Unfortunately, ageism happens to people early in the careers and to those who have many years of experience.
This episode provides tips on what you can do if you're experiencing ageism at work, are concerned about it being an issue at some point, or if you're a people leader looking to create an inclusive team.
Your One Bold Move: Your experience and energy that you bring to an organization is a value add, whether you've been working for two years or twenty. Lead yourself accordingly and be informed on what to do if the organization doesn't recognize your worth.

  • 149. Let Go of Being a People Pleaser
Are you someone who likes to make others happy?
It can be a great thing to be a people pleaser, and like most strengths, there's a shadow side. When you're so busy caring for others--or what others might think--there's often a pull on your time and energy that makes it harder to prioritize yourself, too. This is a common trait, particularly in women.
It's possible to leverage this superpower without letting it take over. This episode provides four ways to stop being a people pleaser.
Your One Bold Move: Remind yourself you have so much to offer to the world--and you can best do this when you're valuing yourself, too.

  • 147. How to Say You're Leaving Early--and Still Be Professional
When you have to leave work early, do you state you’re leaving or ask for permission?
Early in my career and especially as a new parent, I had to really psyche myself up to ask for time away from the office.
This episode provides tips on how to gracefully leave work early, so your boss feels informed and you get what you need.
Your One Bold Move: Leave work early when you need to and take the time off from work so you can be your best self. It’s still possible to do this and maintain a professional reputation at work.

  • 146. Reducing the Gender Wage Gap
2.2 million women left/were forced out of the workforce in 2020. This especially affected Black and Latinx women. It's been on my mind and heart, and it will take considerable business and public policy effort to reduce this trend. I'm also committed to doing everything I can to use my voice. What's also on my mind and heart is how very important it is to support all of the women who are still in the workforce. All of this is why One Bold Move A Day matters, and it's why today I'll focus on reducing the gender wage gap.
This episode shares 5 bold moves we can make together to reduce the gender wage gap.
Your One Bold Move: Consider how you can contribute to reduce the gender wage gap. Do not underestimate how your one bold move can move us forward. We rise together.

This episode provides tips on how to thoughtfully listen to someone you don't agree with, including non-verbal cues and language you can use.
As hard as this may be, the more we can hear others, the more we can understand them. This will build greater empathy and eventually lead to true collaboration.
