First is not always better than second. Maybe in a contest. Maybe in a race. But in the Kingdom of God, things are often “upside down”. In fact, what we repeatedly discover throughout the Scripture is that second is often better than first! So what does that look like for you? It’s simple. God does something great in one season of your life (something to celebrate, by the way). But then, in the next season, God shows up with something even greater! The problem is that we often are so attached to the former that we have a hard time even seeing the latter. We’re so enamored by “great”, we have a hard time believing God is offering “greater”. So here’s the question: Is it possible I’m holding on to something lesser when God has something greater?
