One Life Left

Well, dear listeners, who would have thought it? For the second week on the trot we have a Super-Special Guest on the show!! Zach Weddington joins us to talk about his new multi-part documentary, Arcade Dreams, about the 100 year history of arcades and arcade games - links below!

In other news, we prepare to enter another "lockdown" here in England whilst over on the other side of the pond, nobody knows who is President of the USA yet (at the time of me typing this...) It could even be me! I mean, highly unlikely but let's not rule it out just yet... Meanwhile: Was the new lockdown orchestrated by Nintendo to try to wreck the next generation launch plans of Microsoft and Sony and drive up sales of Pikmin?? Of course not but I wouldn't be surprised if someone believes it...

It's been a long week... Look after yourselves and stay safe out there, listeners!

It's been a long, long, long, long time - possibly even a record breaking amount of time - since we had anyone else on the show with us but here we are, finally, with a Super-Special Guest! This week we are joined by Brynley Gibson from Systemic Reaction! 'Nuff said!

We also managed to find some newsworthy news despite it being yet another quiet week, likely due to some new consoles being released or something. Though we're not being sent any freebies so maybe we won't mention them...

Anyway, don't forget to get your letters in to us at [email protected] for inclusion in future episodes!!

We're still stuck in our homes, missing the studio and "normal" life in general as the country stands on the edge of a precipice of yet more lockdowns! Still no Ann or SSG this week but we hit the hot topics of the day plus "deep dive" into Genshin Impact and gacha mechanics. Plus all the regular features you know and love!

Please keep your letters coming in - [email protected] Remember we currently record these episodes on Sunday evenings so aim to get them in to us before then.

Hullo! Still no Ann or SSG but we battle on regardless, two stalwarts of the gaming industry vs the post-covid world! Here is episode 3 of the "Lockdown Season", or episode 24 of season 20, or episode 409 in total (not including Lost Episodes etc...) - a subject that could be debated by future historians for years upon unearthing an archive of OLL episodes on a dusty old hard drive found down behind an Ikea rocking chair that nobody seemed to want...

Speaking of, if anyone wants an Ikea rocking chair, do let us know!

This is One Life Left, a radio show about video games! Is the sound quality better this week?

This week we discover the top 3 items for panic buying during lockdown were, in fact, toilet paper, hand sanitizer and Ring Fit Adventure! Who would've thought?! We also drag memories of The Generation Game back from the depths, consider buying the PS5 Tape Deck Edition and discover Ste's one and only video game purchase from Morrisons! It will astound you!

After the longest break in OLL history, the team are back! Well, two of us are - Get well soon, Ann! Recorded from the comfort of our own homes, amongst other things we ponder why Eastenders tried to ignore covid, how good a deal the new Xbox is and how much money we'll spend on Nintendo with the upcoming release of "Super Mario 3D - (Almost) All (of the) Stars"! Not forgetting Simon's magic laptop cover.

Covid-19, the lockdown and coping in a "new normal" world can't keep us down!

Who doesn’t watch the Watchmen? It’s one of the most iconic questions of all time, and we finally answer it in this episode.

Other questions that we asked are:
- Did Ste get any disapproving looks over the weekend?
- What is Simon not going to do in San Francisco?
- How many consoles do the RNIB own?
- What is Simon’s latest purchase?
- What are the ingredients of pasta?
- Did Ann break her Switch?
- What is pre writing?
- How many tweets do you need to prove Simon wrong?
- What’s happening with GDC Maraoke?

No Super-Special Guest this week, but we did have Simon ‘Two Mics' Byron in the studio which we weren't expecting, and neither was he. But why was he in the studio, and did it have anything to do with Ann's big news story?

We planned an OLL Road Trip/Roadshow, but I wasn't invited so I'm not really that bothered about it. In fact I was accused of being the OLL Super-Spreader, which I could be offended by, but I think it's the OLL equivalent of the Tiswas Phantom Flan Flinger so I'm taking it as a compliment.

We also found out which of the team had been inappropriate at work, worked out if a car was cosmetic, and decided if we were on the side of Netflix or Chooseco.
