This is episode 8 of the podcast One on Lund with host Nathan Lund. Thanks for listening! Nathan just returned from a run of shows in the South. Thanks to Derrick Stroup for putting it together, and to Ben Bryant for coming along! Huge shout out to Lucy and everyone involved with Zanie's Comedy Club in Nashville, Tennessee. The three Denver boys were able to do a show at Zanie's to kick off their week of performances, and it was a fantastic evening. The crowd was incredible and the comics were fantastic, with special appearances by Nate Bargatze and Mark Normand. Keep up the great work!
Additional thanks to everyone who hosts fun shows and let us do them! March 16, 2018 One on Lund Episode 7
Holy heaven, it's episode seven! Join host Nathan Lund as he recounts his recent audition for the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. Thanks to Wende Curtis, owner of the Comedy Works, a whole slew of funny Denver comedians were able to showcase their talents for JFL scouts. Best of luck to everyone involved!
Several comics from Denver have made the trip to Montreal for Just For Laughs, including the members of the Grawlix (Andrew Orvedahl, Ben Roy, and Adam Cayton-Holland), Troy Walker, Chris Charpentier, and Jordan Doll. It is often a multi-year process to eventually be invited to JFL, and this is Nathan's first time auditioning. Fingers crossed this journey ends with him enjoying some authentic poutine in the Great White North!
This episode features Nathan promoting several upcoming shows and talking about his new gig hosting a weekly pub quiz/trivia night at Black Shirt Brewing Co. Think & Drink Pub Quiz is every Tuesday night at 7pm and is a lot of fun! It is free to play, and prizes are awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. If you're in Denver, come play some time!

Hey y'all, it's episode 6 of One on Lund! Host Nathan Lund is back from the Orlando Indie Comedy Festival, and boy was it a fun time. Big big thanks to Dave Plotkin, Heather Shaw, Doug McPherson, Tim Murphy, and everyone else involved with making the festival such a great experience. Nathan talks about a dude at the Travelodge pool who had an unfortunate run-in with fire ants, and another dude on his flight home who wasn't too happy to see Nathan as his seat neighbor. He also saw a raccoon!
Nathan also talks about the successful maiden voyage of the new comedy debate show at Oskar Blues Black Buzzard called Sticks and Stones! Hosted by Christie Buchele, the show pits comedians against one another as they debate topics like Manic vs Depressed and Boyz II Men vs Spice Girls. For the first show, Nathan argued on the side of Bad News against Aaron Urist and Fake News. After sharing several examples of increasingly bad news, Nathan ended the night with some great news: he won the debate!
Sticks and Stones continues the tradition of a long-running Denver institution: Arguments & Grievances. Hosted by Kevin O'Brien at the Vine St. Pub for six years, A&G was one of the best and most funnest shows in town. It will make its return to the Mile High City on April 13th at the Oriental Theater and will feature many of the talented comics responsible for its success, including Chris Charpentier, Mara Wiles, Jordan Doll, and Sam Tallent. Welcome to episode 5 of One on Lund! This is the first episode that Nathan recorded without broadcasting via Facebook Live. While it seemed like a fun idea to be able to interact with listeners in real time, the live broadcast came with some audio issues and video freezes, and so Nathan will focus on the classic audio-only podcast format going forward. Perhaps future episodes with guests will be available on Facebook Live, but isn't it a good thing for all of us to spend less time on Facebook?

Originally known as Mile High Sci Fi, hosts Harrison Rains and Matt Vogl made fun of bad science fiction flops for years at several movie theaters around Denver. One of Nathan's first goals after moving to Colorado was to be a part of it, and it continues to be one of the best shows in town now that Harrison works with a rotating cast of Denver's best movie roasters. Harrison and Nathan most recently blasted Billy Zane in "The Phantom" at both Alamo Drafthouse locations (Sloan's Lake and Littleton). Next month catch Christie Buchele and Zach Reinert when they roast "Indecent Proposal" March 9th and 16th!

Hey thanks so much for checking out Episode 3 of One on Lund! In this offering, Nathan updates listeners on his journey with the dreaded "King's Disease" known as gout and lists some of his favorite music choices to play before diving into the podcast. He also provides a brief history of Fort Comedy; aka David Rodriguez, Kyle Pogue, and Mallory Wallace. These three talented comedians joined forces a few years ago to create a comedy scene in Fort Collins, a college town about an hour north of Denver, and boy did they succeed! There are now a multitude of supportive and fun rooms in FoCo, both open mics and showcases, and much of the credit goes to these three friends for their hard work and dedication. Though Kyle and Mallory no longer live in Fort Collins, they should be proud of what they accomplished up there. Kudos to Fort Comedy!
Nathan shares the details of a recent conversation with one of his first friends in the Denver comedy scene, the hilarious Dick Black, and discusses how comedy rules, hard. Although it can be extremely frustrating to attempt to make a living via stand up comedy, if you love the act of making people laugh you will find a way to survive. He also shares some of his favorite advice about comedy from the extremely talented Andrew Orvedahl and comedy legend Dana Gould.

Thanks for checking out episode 2 of One on Lund! Host Nathan Lund makes an announcement that will shock the Denver Comedy Scene to its very core: His gout is back! No but seriously, Nathan is planning on moving to LA later this year after 10 years in Denver. Nathan does describe the pain of gout and how he hopes to prevent future flare ups by eating less meat, but the big news centers around the move to Hollywood to chase comedy fame and fortune. Denver will always hold a special place in Nathan's heart and it will be sad to part ways, but LA is calling and Nathan must answer that call!
