One Week Season

We talked DFS theory through the lens of the Week 4 slate, using the Bink Machine to drive the conversation. Focused on how chalk is formed, how we build a player pool, and how we choose rosters. We also talked about the mental side of DFS.

This week we dove into how Maximus tries to leverage his rosters for his 5-max contest to account for the game environments he is most confident about (MIA // BUF and LVR // LAC) and the different ways they could play out. We also discussed the strategies around late-swapping, accounting for late game news and inactives, and targeting concentrated offenses.

We started the show talking over some of the viable games on the slate, and poking around on the tight end position, then we shifted our attention to the question of "What if the badness of the Bears' and Broncos' defenses outweighs the badness of the offenses?" This led to us building a roster around Justin Fields, with a secondary stack that loaded up on pieces from the Chargers/Raiders game.

We broke down some of the unique components on this week's slate (lots of viable QBs, but none necessarily separating from others; lots of strong pay-up options, but not a ton of strong value; really thin TE this week), and then we built a roster with a 49ers stack (Purdy + Aiyuk + Kittle) and worked to make sure we could get two of the higher-priced pieces with smash potential (Josh Jacobs // Ja'Marr Chase).
