Only Bourbon Fans

Lamonte (@BourbonBr0ther) joins the crew for a drink. We talk single malt whiskey, Jefferson’s and using your own family to pick out what you drink when at home. We also get into some of the our tasting notes we prefer and what Fred Minnick meant by 2023 was a bad year for whiskey. Do you agree? We also get some recommendations from Lamonte on his go to bourbon’s.

The gang welcomes back Sam from East Ave Liquor to help with our blind review of the Old Elk Wheated Bourbon. We try and guess the proof and price of this bourbon while we know nothing about it other than what we taste and smell. Albert talks about his trip to Tampa and hanging out with the Tampa Bay Bourbon Boyz. Sam also fills us in a little on loyalty and pricing of liquor stores. He also talks about his experience with Rare Character and meeting with owner Pablo Moix. And Heisey is expecting!!!

Albert and Zack twist Heisey’s arm and do a quick review on the cigar cut bourbon from Old Elk. Check out this quick review

Uncle Ty is just a guy in Canada who likes to review beer and whiskey in his shower…. Actually, he is a wealth of knowledge in the field and extremely funny to go along with it. Ty joins the crew to talk about his reviews, supporting local, and what he really thinks of Blanton’s bourbon. Be sure to give him a follow and check out his YouTube page - Whisky Heathens

Albert and Zack get together to give a review of the 2023 Pinhook Flagship bourbon. A 30$ bottle, is it worthy of a budget bourbon list?

Albert is visiting the family back home and has some time to drink bourbon and do a review with Zack while everyone else is hanging out. We do quick review of this cask strength bourbon from Wilderness Trail. It does not disappoint.

Join the boys in their second round of a double blind. Heisey’s reveal of a Knob to Knob blind perplexed him. Hilarity ensues… And then stick around for some quality conversation with the gang.

Googs Heisey and Vinnie (The OBF Misfits) lead this podcast while Albert and Zack are out of town. Without the host and the godfather the boys decide to do a “Fanboy” blind of Blanton’s EH Taylor small batch. They also discuss recommendations for wedding bar bottles and question bourbons benefits when paired with a light beer. And vinnie does weird things with the grease from a ham?

Shri from 2OunceWhisky is back and helping us with Googs blind review pick of Hand Barrel. We also discuss the 25 year Eagle Rare announcement from Buffalo Trace, Shri gives us a little science from the neck pour myth and Vinnie just wants to go watch a Browns game with Shri in Ohio

Heisey chats with Geoff from the Tampa Bay Bourbon Boyz about their trip to Louisville. We check in to see if Geoff stayed within his bottle limit or not after the fiasco of wether or not he has a bourbon allowance. And anyone looking for some other insight on Louisville and the bourbon trail, he fills us in on what him and the boyz did and what are some good places to visit. Enjoy!
