Today, we want to share a podcast episode from Jonathan Morrow's Your Worldview Minute. In today's episode, he shares with us about the foundation of Christianity that the faith of the Bible is not a blind, wishful thinking. At the center of the Christian message, the heart of Christianity is the fact that Jesus rose from the dead, and this is the proof that God has given to all men to believe that the man Jesus who died on the cross is truly God the Son. This is the core of what the early church and what Paul preached - that Jesus died and rose from the dead according to the Bible. The foundation of Christianity is that this man Jesus - he claimed to be God, he died on the cross, but now he's alive. If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, you are still in your sins. If Christ has not been raised, we are of all men most to be pitied. If Jesus did not rise from the dead, we cannot have faith that Jesus is the Son of God who died to forgive my sins, and we cannot believe the Bible, all of Christianity is false. So it is so important to really dig out this historical fact and honestly seek the truth for ourselves and for the next generation - did Jesus really rise from the dead? Today, we want to share a testimony from a brother who serves as a police officer. It is so amazing to see how this brother confirmed the proof of the resurrection of Jesus. This brother was in charge of training and auditing in the police department and when he would train the police officers under him, he told them that when you investigate a case, you can never convict someone based on personal convictions but you need tangible proof - you need to have tangible, material evidence and eyewitness testimony - and through these proofs, you can recreate and determine the actual truth of what happened even if you weren't there. So he realized that if he could find this tangible evidence and eyewitness testimony in the Bible as a sure proof for Jesus' resurrection, he could confirm the exact truth of Jesus' resurrection! Recently, we went to the Unapologetic Conference in Austin Texas and got to watch a debate between Dr. Mike Licona and Matt Dillahunty on the question “Was Jesus resurrected from the dead?” Dr. Mike Licona has a Ph.D. in New Testament Studies and serves as associate professor at Houston Baptist University. He has authored numerous books, spoken on over 90 university campuses, and appeared on dozens of radio and television programs. Matt Dillahunty is an American public speaker, avid gamer, magician. Born in a Christian home, he spent 25 years in the church but became an atheist and was the president of the Atheist Community of Austin from 2006 to 2013. We will be listening to a testimony from a brother who had leukemia. After meeting the Risen Lord Jesus, without worry or fear, he lived the happiest life of sharing the gospel. And through his testimony, I believe the Holy Spirit is asking us this question : Are you looking at my illness or at the Risen Lord? In my heart, am I holding on to my problems in this world or on to Jesus who rose from the dead and is my Lord? This is the power of the gospel, the power of the resurrection that this Risen Jesus is my Lord and my God, so I live not by sight, but by faith in what Jesus has already fulfilled and live a heavenly life on this earth right now sharing the gospel and live to win the eternal prize in the kingdom of God.
