Petty disputes can consume people until they lose sight of what matters most. Paul tells Titus to avoid pointless quarrels and to warn a divisive person twice before breaking contact, while still praying for change. This boundary protects people from teaching and conflict that pull them away from God’s grace. God saves sinners because of His mercy, not their ancestry, religious customs, or moral success, and Jesus has paid the price that justice requires.

Christians must do good without treating their goodness as the reason God saves them. Titus 3 roots humble obedience in God’s mercy. God saved people who were foolish, deceived, and enslaved by sin, not because they were righteous, but because He is merciful. He gives the Holy Spirit to wash and renew them, so grace does not release them from obedience but frees them for it. They can respect authorities, treat neighbours gently, and devote themselves to good deeds that make God’s grace visible.

Good deeds can hide a hunger for approval, reward, or control. Titus 2 says God's grace does what fear and harder effort cannot: it trains people to reject ungodliness and live good lives. Jesus gave Himself to bear sin's penalty, rose again, and makes those who trust Him right with God rather than leaving them to earn His love. Grace must sink into the heart, changing the motive for obedience from self-protection to love for God.

Church life can disappoint because every congregation is full of flawed and broken people. Titus 2 describes grace reshaping relationships through self-control, faithful love and integrity in the home, church and workplace. These changes do not come through harder effort alone. God’s saving grace forgives sinners and, through the Holy Spirit, teaches them to reject ungodliness and live differently. A community changed this way makes the good news about God attractive to those outside.

A small gift can seem too little to matter, just as Ezekiel’s vision begins with a small stream while Jerusalem and its temple lie destroyed. Yet the water deepens into an uncrossable river, bringing fresh water, fruitful trees and healing. God had not forgotten His people. His faithful relationship with them promises new life fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Because Jesus gives living water, God’s people can trust His promises, flourish in His presence and share that life through giving and service.

Scandals and infighting make good leadership seem hard to find. In Titus 1, Paul tells Titus to appoint elders whose lives display the grace they teach, because every church needs trustworthy leadership. Blameless does not mean sinless; it means a leader's life stays consistent with their faith. Leaders must practise hospitality, self-control and disciplined goodness, hold firmly to the trustworthy message about Jesus, and help the church bring that message to others.

If Jesus remained in the tomb, Christian faith would be worthless and sin would still rule. Because He rose, Jesus is a living Saviour who can be known through His Word, prayer, the Holy Spirit and life with other Christians. His resurrection confirms that His death has made His people right with God. The same power breaks sin's grip, sends them as Christ's ambassadors, and changes them into His likeness until they are made perfect.

Friendship can seem possible only between equals, yet Jesus calls sinful people His friends. He willingly lays down His life on their behalf, paying the cost that real forgiveness requires and enduring betrayal, mockery and crucifixion. His cry that it is finished declares victory, and His resurrection shows that God’s justice against sin has been fully met. The cross joins justice with mercy and overturns worldly power. It shapes Christians to give money away and use power for service.

Jesus promises that His resurrection will turn it into lasting joy and begin a new creation. Trouble and failure remain real, yet peace rests on God’s grip of His people and Jesus’ victory over the world.

Failed predictions about dates and disasters leave people still asking what hope the future holds. Daniel sees persecuted people raised from death, with some receiving everlasting life and others facing everlasting contempt. Evil will not have the final word. Jesus was raised from the dead as the first to enter this everlasting life, showing God cares about this world and will deal with its wrongs. Resurrection hope therefore gives believers reason to live faithfully, resist injustice, and pour themselves out for others.
