Olivia Haynes and Medicine for Grizzlies were our guests this November at Sky Studio. Olivia’s charm and breathtaking voice blew us away while she strummed away at her Ukulele making it all look east. Meanwhile Liz sat down with Medicine for Grizzles who weren’t expecting to play some songs using our drum set. We had a spontaneous party. You’re invited.

Ines Perndorfer and MojoKoko are both female songwriters living in Vienna. Since this recording, the songwriting scene in Vienna has even developed as much to include. an all-female open mic, obscurely hosted by Open Phil regular Wolf Morrison. Ines Perndorfer exploded onto the scene briefly after moving to Vienna with her poppy love-jams, while MojoKoko has been secretly winning over fans with her words and inventive melodies for the past few years.

This month we had the privilege of being invited to Siren Call’s secret hideout, which they have all kinds of fancy gear which they used to help produce the first half of our segment. You may think you are listening to professionally recorded audio, and well… you are… which they played/recorded for us LIVE! For the second half, we head back to Radio Orange to meet up with Wolf Morrison, who just got back from the premiere of his new web-movie “Satan’s Girls”.

This month we are thrilled to present one of the best trios to ever grace our open stage, Alpine Dweller! Their soundscape is breath-taking and they were a pleasure to interview as well (interview is in German, however). The second half of the program (in English) newcomer to the scene Estef shares her remarkably original work with us and we were both smitten with her story.

This month, Phil invited two new friends from Berlin to play at a very special Open Phil session at Cafe Cobenzl. After an epic Sunday afternoon with many surprising interactions, we decided we had to commemorate the afternoon by heading down to the station and recording this broadcast.

This month we had the privilege of recording at Boxer John’s studio The Music Box in Vienna, where we met with The David Stellner Duo and talked about their sessions record Die Wandervögel. For the second half we met newcomer Adrian Lüssing at Radio Orange and had a listen to some new songs he is working on.

This month Lill is off nailing her final exams while Phil gets together with two greats. Simon Lewis and Onk Lou are two extraordinary musicians that used to come to Open Phil back when we first started. Both have progressed in their musical careers and are now working as full-time musicians and signed with an Austrian label. This month we look up to two Open Phil artists budding into musical stars. It still feels like we’re all just hanging out in our living room, though.
