If you ever feel bewildered, don't feel so bad, because you're dealing with a very powerful force. But there is a solution, and it's given in the Bhagavad-gītā by Kṛṣṇa Himself. Near the end, He says, "What verse number is this? It's 18.58— 'mac-cittaḥ sarva-durgāṇi mat-prasādāt tariṣyasi, atha cet tvam ahaṅkārān na śroṣyasi vinaṅkṣyasi': 'If you become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditioned life by My grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost.'"

This is a strong case for chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa every day. Number one, chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa means to take shelter of Kṛṣṇa through His names. It's a direct process. And if you ever feel bewildered by māyā—and who doesn't from moment to moment—the only solution ultimately is to take shelter of Kṛṣṇa, and the best way is through chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa. So take full shelter of chanting the holy name, especially completing at least 16 rounds a day if you've taken that vow. And Śrīla Prabhupāda made many assurances that if you do that and follow the four regulative principles, māyā can't touch you. That's amazing because māyā is so powerful, she bewilders everyone. But if we take shelter in that proper way, then we'll notice for ourselves. It's not that somebody else has to tell us—we'll see it for ourselves.
