Welcome back to Open the Voice Gate! Case (https://twitter.com/_inyourcase) and Mike (https://twitter.com/fujiiheya) are back with an update on the comings and goings of Dragongate.
Dangerous Gate is finally here and OTVG is back to talk about the go-home shows in Osaka and preview DG’s biggest show so far this year. Case and Mike break down the doubleshot in Edion Arena #2 Osaka from 9/12 and 9/13 and then go deep talking about each match on Dragongate’s big show, Dangerous Gate, happening on 9/21 from Tokyo’s Ota City General Gymnasium. Will all three champions retain? How will the Special Singles Match go with “Mr. February” Kzy facing off against “Mr. Ota City” Naruki Doi in the rematch of their MOTYC contender from February?
And then we get into the big match. The Dragongate Risk Cage match has moved from May to September this year as Masato Yoshino will defend his career against Eita, YAMATO, BxB Hulk, KAI and Big R Shimizu. Case and Mike take time to explain all of the rules for this years cage match, and what risks are at stake. Will Masato Yoshino be forced to retire before Kobe World? Will Eita be expelled from R.E.D? Will KAI be forced into joining R.E.D. or leave the company? What about the forced gimmick changes that YAMATO, Hulk or Shimizu might face? All of that and more on this OTVG Weekly Update!
The preview for Dangerous Gate starts at 00:58:13.

Welcome back to Open the Voice Gate - Rewind and Rewatch, where Case (https://twitter.com/_inyourcase) and Mike (https://twitter.com/fujiiheya) are Rewinding and Rewatching the Dragon Gate USA era of shows.
It’s the biggest show of DGUSA’s 2011 Midwest Weekend, as the company returns to the Congress Theater in Chicago, IL on 9/10/2011 for “Untouchable 2011!” Before we get into the show review, a ton of stuff has been happening in Japan that we need to catch up on.
Although it was talked about last week on Rewind and Rewatch, Case and Mike talk a bit about the 6/8/2011 Korakuen that launched Dragon Gate Japan’s huge summer. From there, they discuss Kobe World Pro Wrestling Festival 2011, perhaps the greatest Kobe World of all-time, Summer Adventure Tag league 2011 aka the Hulk+Akira show, and the return of the Masaaki Mochizuki produce shows “Buyuden!”
After that, it’s time for the penultimate DGUSA Chicago show with a main event Open the Freedom Gate match with YAMATO defending against CIMA, Akira Tozawa versus Johnny Gargano, and a four-way freestyle with the winner making any match they want with Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino, Chuck Taylor and Sami Callihan. Also Sabu makes his DGUSA debut, which was something that happened in 2012.

This week’s episode looks at this week’s big Korakuen show for DG where the final card for the upcoming Dangerous Gate show came into place with a trios match deciding the final cage match entry order, more Yellow Demon Mask intrigue, Toryumon Legends vs the Class of 2020 and more! After that, Case and Mike talk about the Okinawa shows, the Amazon Prime Video Japan deal, look ahead towards this weekend’s double header in Osaka, and talk about their favorite Dangerous Gate matches!

It’s Dragon Gate USA’s first weekend in the Midwest in 2011 and it’s time to go into Lowe Territory as Case and Mike cover “Chasing the Dragon” from Indianapolis, Indiana at the Salvation Army Community Center on 9/9/2011. Before we get to that, there’s landmark events occurring in Dragon Gate proper as the gang talks about one of the most important Korakuen shows in DG’s history: 6/8/2011 with the official formation of Junction Three and the turn of BXB Hulk & Akira Tozawa’s first show back from excursion! As well, the timeline covers the exit of Austin Aries, the DGUSA events leading up to this show and more.
With that done, Case and Mike review “Chasing the Dragon,” a DVD-only release that features a first time Captains Fall six-man tag match as Ricochet leads his Blood Warriors teammates CIMA & Akira Tozawa versus PAC and his team of “best high flyers” of Rich Swann & AR Fox. As well, this show has the debut of Uhaa Nation, a very weird Fray match, YAMATO & Masato Yoshino vs Chuck Taylor & Johnny Gargano, and Naruki Doi vs Sami Callihan!

Welcome back to Open the Voice Gate - Rewind and Rewatch, where Case (https://twitter.com/_inyourcase) and Mike (https://twitter.com/fujiiheya) are Rewinding and Rewatching the Dragon Gate USA era of shows.
It's DGUSA's two year anniversary! Before ending the anniversary weekend with "DGUSA Enter the Dragon 2011 - Second Anniversary Celebration," Case and Mike talk about the big events of May and June 2011 including Jon Moxley reporting to FCW, and how indicative his class at WWE's developmental was of the times, EVOLVE's first-ever Style Battle, Akira Tozawa's final weekend in PWG, and perhaps two separate events that most drastically changed the wrestling landscape of the 2010s with nearly a decade of hindsight: New Japan's first-ever USA tour that crowns the first IWGP Intercontinental Champion and Ring of Honor is bought by Sinclair Broadcast Group.
After that timeline, It's time to celebrate DGUSA's 2nd Anniversary at B.B. King's Blues Bar and Grill in New York City on 6/5/2011! YAMATO defends his Open the Freedom Gate Championship is the main event of the anniversary show that also has a Ronin & X vs Blood Warriors Elimination Six-Man Tag Match, D.U.F. finally face off against Masaaki Mochizuki & Susumu Yokosuka, and a Nine Way Fray match!

It’s Dragongate’s first appearance in Fukuoka since February, and Case and Mike are here to break it down. In the “mini Korakuen” venue of Acros Fukuoka DG had an afternoon/evening doubleshot on 8/23 featuring a Shuji Kondo singles match, a Kyushu Pro invasion, Diamante being an absolute mad man, a Doctor Muscle appearance and more! Then Case and Mike preview the next week’s shows, deal with Mike’s conspiracy theory about Sora Fujikawa, and start to look ahead to September’s monster calendar!

The Second Anniversary has us roll into the NYWC Sportatorium for “Uprising 2011” on 6/4/2011, but before that, Case and Mike have to dip into Japan to catch everyone up to speed on what’s happening in Dragon Gate. It’s Dead or Alive and King of Gate time for DG in 2011, with a ton of turns and formations as are in the first days of the then named “Mochizuki Army” that will very soon become Junction Three and there’s a TON to cover to get to Second Anniversary Weekend.
With that done, Case and Mike review “Uprising 2011,” an underwhelming affair that officially concluded Akira Tozawa’s excursion and the last show before “Enter the Dragon 2011.” Highlights of the show include A.R. Fox’s first big singles match in DGUSA against Akira Tozawa and a special three way freestyle match between the three best flyers at that poin in the Dragon System, PAC vs Ricochet vs Rich Swann!

Let’s hear it for the kids! This week’s update reviews the Gate of Adventure stop in DG’s home arena, Kobe Sambo Hall from 8/15/2020, takes a look at this week’s doubleheader in Acros Fukuoka on 8/23/2020, and looks ahead to November, and the insane month Dragongate will have with now the postponed Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival happening in a month with two other big shows! Case and Mike take a bunch of time to talk about Mike’s revision to his Gamma, 2020 Wrestler of the Year campaign, what the future is for U-T, The Takashi Yoshida problem, and then an incredibly deep dive into the Veterans versus Class of 2020 semi-main event that’s worth going out of your way to watch. The gang gives their tentative rankings of the rookie class, talks about the burgeoning Sora Fujikawa fancam scene, tries to figure out how tall Madoka Kikuta is, and more!

It’s the 2nd Anniversary triple-shot weekend, and it kicks off on 6/3/2011 in Revere, Massachusetts at the Wonderland Ballroom with Fearless 2011. Before the show, we step into the timeline to talk about the DGUSA events post-Wrestlemania 2011 leading up to this weekend of shows. A note on Larry Sweeney, Jimmy Jacobs’ sudden departure, Chuck Taylor’s injury, and DGUSA dealing with the unit shakeup in Japan are the big moments from April into June of 2011.
After that, Case and Mike discuss an incredibly uneven Fearless 2011 that has both of them wondering if the famed DGUSA slide is beginning. Featuring the return of Masaaki Mochizuki, they reflect highly on his return, a Susumu Yokosuka and Ricochet match that would foreshadow matches to come, and an United Gate main event with the now Former World-1 teammates of Masato Yoshino and PAC defending against former Kamikaze USA in YAMATO and Akira Tozawa. The gang also wonders if this is one of the worst venues in DGUSA history, a lot of DUF, and a ridiculously long Austin Aries vs Johnny Gargano match.
