In Episode 156 of the No Limitations Podcast, Opportunities Don’t Come Gift-Wrapped, Blenheim Partners’ Gregory Robinson speaks with Jake Klein, Chair of Evolution Mining Ltd.
In a necessary discussion for the future of Australia, Jake calls on political and industry leaders to articulate a clear and strategic vision, with well-thought-out policy that extends beyond the election cycle, to protect and grow our nation's core competitive advantage for the benefit of later generations. Jake also shares his professional journey and outlines the pivotal moments that took him from the Bullion Division of Macquarie Bank to navigating China’s emerging gold market at Sino Gold, before ultimately returning to Australia to create and build Evolution Mining. Finally, Jake outlines the key qualities he values in emerging leaders, highlighting the importance of proactively seizing opportunities and having the courage to make difficult decisions.
Evolution Mining is Australia’s second-largest ASX-listed gold miner and currently operates six mines across Australia and Canada. Evolution Mining is also one of the lowest-cost, highest-margin gold producers in the world. Prior to founding Evolution Mining, Jake was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sino Gold Mining Ltd, a listed gold mining company and one of the largest foreign participants in the Chinese Gold industry, which was later acquired by Eldorado Gold Corporation in 2009. Prior to Sino Gold, Jake worked in the Bullion Division of Macquarie Bank Ltd and commenced his career with PwC in South Africa. Jake is also a former Non-Executive Director of OceanaGold Ltd and Lynas Corporation (now Lynas Rare Earths Ltd).
