Orange and Brown Talk: Cleveland Browns Podcast

Just one episode of Gotta Watch The Tape on this Christmas week, as we break down numbers and film about the Cleveland Browns.

On this episode with Doug Lesmerises, Scott Patsko and Ellis Williams, the emphasis is on fourth down and the red zone as the 10-4 Browns prepare for the New York Jets on Sunday.

First, Scott examines how often the Browns are going for it on fourth down, the trends on fourth down around the league, the types of plays Kevin Stefanski is calling on fourth down -- and why the Browns' fourth-down conversion percentage is so low.

Then Ellis looks at the Browns in the red zone, where they have been one of the best teams in the league and even better in the last three weeks. What type of personnel groupings do they use there? How does it compare to last year? And what does the red zone success tell us about the overall cohesion of the Browns offense?

Thanks for listening to Gotta Watch The Tape from cleveland.com, and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Did the bad weather actually help Baker Mayfield's development this season? If the Browns had to choose, would they pick Odell Beckham Jr. or Jarvis Landry? What if the Browns go 11-5 and miss the playoffs? Would Sam Darnold's career have been different in Cleveland?

Mary Kay Cabot, Ellis Williams and Dan Labbe answer those four questions.

Then, Terry Pluto joins Dan to talk Browns-Giants and more.

On this Gotta Watch the Tape edition of the Orange and Brown Talk podcast, Scott Patsko, Ellis Williams and Doug Lesmerises discuss the progress this season of Browns players at two critical positions: quarterback and left tackle.

First, Ellis digs in on Baker Mayfield and how he handled the Baltimore Ravens last week. Ellis highlights what pre-snap motion does to help Mayfield, how he handles man coverage vs. zone coverage and the changes he has made since the first half of the season.

Then, Scott dives in on rookie Jedrick Wills and how he has stacked up at left tackle. Is he better as a pass protector or run blocker? How does he compare to the other rookie tackles drafted around him? And what might settling that position do for the future of the Browns?
