An angel appeared to the shepherds with the news that Jesus the Messiah had been born who would bring with Him the gift of peace.  Can we make room for Him and the peace He brings?

An angel appeared to Mary with the news that she would bear a child, Jesus the Messiah would bring with Him the gift of hope.  Can we make room for Him and the hope he brings?

Our relationship with our “treasures” or resources in this life can easily become spiritually unhealthy.  We need to understand that the “treasures” we have in this life are gifts from God that we are called to use in ways that honor Him and generosity is a key part of this.

1 Corinthians 12:1, 4-7, 1 Peter 4:10-11

Everyone has been given gifts and talents from God and we are called to use these gifts and talents, not just to benefit ourselves, but to serve God and one another.

Psalm 90:12, Colossians 3:17, 1 Samuel 12:24

Time is a precious gift from God that we need to use wisely, being mindful of God, and seeking to serve Him.

Galatians 5:22-23, Psalms 24:1, 1 John 3:5, Titus 1:8, 2:2-8, Proverbs 25:28

Our lives should bear the fruit of self-control.  God and Jesus both exhibit self-control and we are called to do the same.  Further, a lack of self-control is destructive to our lives and faith.

Our lives should bear the fruit of gentleness.  God is gentle as is Jesus and we’re called to be gentle too.  Gentleness is a better way, it’s the way of Jesus.

Our lives should bear the fruit of faithfulness.  God is faithful and we are called to be faithful too, faithful to God and to one another, and in all we do.
