Today we are in Chapter 4 of Galatians and our focus is, No Longer Slaves.  God's plan for us has always been Sons & Daughters, Created in His Image with Purpose.  The Plan was interrupted by sin and everything went awry.  But Jesus Came and now we have a choice.  We no longer have to live enslaved to this world's systems or to the law or to idols.  We can live free as we choose not to love the world.  We can live free as we recognize what might be at work from within to enslave us, whether it be pride, fear, greed/comparison, unforgiveness, living beyond our means, or a wrong view of God.  We can choose to. live empowered by the Spirit and walk in freedom. 

In chapter 3 of Galatians, Paul continues his defense of living by faith as opposed to living by the law.  God initiates and provides The Way to salvation.  Why do we so readily go back to trying to earn it by keeping the law.  Paul quotes the Old Testament saying that  "Abraham believed God and God counted him as righteous because of his faith."  The law was given for a purpose between the promise and the fulfillment of that promise, but now that the promise has been fulfilled there is a "new and better way," and we are not turning back. 

We are in Week 2 of our study of Galatians, coving studying Chapter 2 with the thought that our life is not our own.  God is Sovereign, Supreme Ruler over everything, yet He gives us free will.  When we make Him Lord of our lives, our life belongs to Him.  It is Not My Life.  But do we choose to live it for ourselves or do we choose to live it for Him.  The more fulfilling life is to live it as God created us to, not with ourselves at the center, but with Him at the center.  

We are diving into the book of Galatians with the idea that we have been Rescued and there is No Going Back.  In the first chapter we are focusing on the fact that the Gospel is GOOD NEWS!  There is No Other Gospel, no other good news that is entirely true and trustworthy.  No Other Gospel that carries the news of a Rescuing Savior, a Righteous Ruler, a Grace-filled Father and a Faithful Friend.  The Gospel reveals Jesus and Rescues us from our own destructive ways.  No Other Gospel has the power to save, to heal, to transform and to make us entirely whole.

Join us at the table of Origin as we compare Relative Trust to Absolute Truth.  Truth should be rock solid.  Dependable.  The same in every culture, for every generation, for all time.  Pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and let's have a talk!

Often the server will say, "Would you like some more tea?"  Especially if you live in Texas!  A common answer might be, "I Have Enough, I'm Good!"  If this is our answer as a follower of God, "I Have Enough, I'm Good," that is a deception.  Join us at the table of Origin as we disarm this deception with the Truth of God's Word.  

Sometimes it seems like we live in a "Just enough to get by" world.  Someone asks us to do something or we see something that needs to be done and for various reasons, we are tempted to say, "That's Not My Job!"  But the Bible assures us that we are our brother's keeper and Jesus told the disciples they should go the second mile.  Join us at the table of Origin as we discuss, "Not My Job."
