Origin

Join us for part 2 of THE END, a study of the Revelation.  Today we will contrast False Prophets & True Witnesses, seeing the different motivations, characteristics and activities of both.  We will see how satan likes to counterfeit the works of God.  In and of himself, he is not able to create what God has created.  He is not able to do the powerful works that Jesus does.  He spends his energy trying.  His goal is to destroy.  Christ's goal is to rescue.  False prophets testify of anything but Christ.  The True Witness points right to Jesus.

This is part 2 of Episode 3, The End.  We are unpacking the book of Revelation.  We are given two choices, life or death.  Which one will you choice.  Today we will talk about being Sealed by the Holy Spirit or Marked by the Beast.  We will contrast the difference and illuminate the choice.  We are so thankful God gives us the dignity of choice, but He wants us to choose Him.

Join us as we discuss Rapture or Tribulation.   We  define, compare and contrast the two, and once again, we emphasize the fact that we have a choice.  The time to make that choice is NOW.  

There’s truth and there’s counterfeit to just about everything—God’s  kingdom versus Satan’s deceit. Satan really is just a copycat. He’s not original. He comes along and tries to mimic what God does and lead us off track. Our job is to distinguish between the two. I believe many of us worry that we will be deceived even as God’s elect or we won’t know the truth. This is what the Scriptures do say: “For false christs and false prophets will arise [God wants us to know that] and will provide great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect [even the church]“ (Mt 24:24). So, you can understand why we’re concerned. But our goal today is to leave us with confidence that we have the tools to determine what is truth!

Today is all about Christ’s instructions to his church. His instructions to us.  We are not just studying history tonight; we are part of history in the making. 

Let’s set the scene, Revelation chapter 2 and 3, contains seven letters directly from Christ himself written to seven churches that actually existed around 95AD in Asia Minor which now the country of Turkey. 

 These scriptures were written to real people who lived a long time ago, but they are relevant, timeless, and applicable to us today, every single one which is why we are going to cover all seven. As we read the letter, I want you to ask yourself, or rather, Ask the Lord, if His words are speaking to you. We’re going to ask ourselves some tough questions today.  Join us at the table of Origin to talk about the charges Christ gives The CHURCH.

The most important truth about the book of Revelation is this,  It belongs to Jesus Christ in the sense that He is the one doing the revealing and He is the person revealed.  There is a lot to see in the book of Revelation and it matters. There are symbols, dates, the things that we don’t fully understand that scholars have studied for years- it matter, otherwise it wouldn’t be in recorded for us, but let’s not miss the forest for the trees. We’re on a divine hunt for Jesus.

*If we walk away from study gripped in fear- we’ve missed Him. 
*If we walk away from this study compelled to stockpile food and clutch our pearls a little tighter because the end is near- we’ve missed Him  
*If we walk away from the study of Revelation and lock our doors and hole up in the 4 walls of our churches while the world around us is desperately crying out for answers- we’ve missed Him.

This book is about the Revelation of Jesus.  Don't miss Him.

We have begun a study of Revelation, and we’re excited about it. Today, we are in Episode 2,  talking about the topic of Ground Zero. When we look at Ground Zero defined, we think of it as the very beginning of something or square one, maybe the center where a bomb or an explosion takes place.  Today, we are looking at the city of Jerusalem and even more precisely the Temple Mount as a Ground Zero of sorts. It is where the followers of Jehovah God gathered.   Their place of sacrifice and worship. We’re going to look at that place as a place marked by God.  

Hear the words in Psalm 132:13-14:

For the Lord has chosen Jerusalem; He has desired it for His home. “This is My resting place forever,” He said. “I will live here, for this is the home I desired.”

We are jumping into some heavy-duty subject matter. We are podcasting a study called The End. That sounds ominous. Today, we are diving in and asking ourselves this question:  What time is it?  The Bible is relevant for today.  We can lay the Biblical timeline over the world's timeline and see clues regarding the future.  We believe it is time.  Time for what?  Decisions!  How will we live?  What is important?  What is lasting?  What really matters?  Oscar Wilde says, "I never put off until tomorrow what I can possibly do today."  Our questions is, "How long do we really have to make some of the most important decisions about life?"  Join us today around the table of Origin for season 3, The End:  A Revelation study as we discuss, "The Time is Now!"
