This week on the #OTCBPodcast, we welcome two men looking forward to so some milestone, firsts; Jeff McComb and JP Kealey.

McComb was promoted to Head Coach of the Rush back in August of 2020 but has to officially coach his first NLL game due to the Pandemic. There may be a few technical differences between his style and his predecessor but there's no doubt in his mind that this group still has what it takes to win it all.

JP Kealey has decided to hang up the lacrosse pads and take his talents to the world of NASCAR! A binge on Netflix planted the seed and before he could change his mind, he packed up and moved to North Carolina to join the Chip Ganassi Racing Team Pit Crew.

It was a slow news week but we've got two great interviews and more, on this weeks OTCBPodcast.

This week on the OTCBPodcast we've got ourselves a schedule for the 2021-2022 season, so the Commissioner of the NLL, Nick Sakiewicz will join us.

When the NLL season kicks off it December it will have been over 600 days since they last played- so everyone is looking forward to Face-Off Weekend. Sakiewicz is excited for the league to get back in front of the thousands of fans across the country and for the hundreds of players throughout the league. Plus with a new franchise and two new locations of previous markets, its a very exciting time around the NLL.

We'll break the down the schedule a bit, talk about the plethora of games uploaded to the NLL's YouTube channel and let you know who will be coaching the Nanaimo Timbermen Jr A team next year.

Glicini and Frazer were crowned PLL Champs on Sunday as the Chaos knocked off the defending two-time champs. Both played massive rolls and both revelled in the excitement of lifting the trophy.

Suitor announced earlier in the week that he would hanging up the pads after a wonderful career and a decade of dominance. He was one of the league's top pugilists and competitors. They don't make 'em like Suits anymore; so what's next for him?

But first, we send our condolences to the family of Dean Hill, who suddenly passed away earlier this week. Deaner was beloved by everyone and had a smile that lit up the room. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Alex Pace grew up playing lacrosse in Halifax but there were greener pastures in Ontario for his junior career to bloom. Now, entering his second year in the NLL, he's working with Northern Torch to help mould the next wave of Maritime lacrosse players.

Mike Accursi has seen the interest in the game of lacrosse grow from the moment the Thunderbirds landed in Halifax. Their first season ended way too soon but the locals were already hooked, and he can't wait to get back to The Nest and finish what they started.

This week on the OTCB Podcast we welcome back Bob Hamley, President and GM of the Panther City Lacrosse Club.

PCLC continues to knock off franchise firsts and this week it was their first Entry Draft and they didn't wast the opportunity with the first overall pick. Hamley and his staff had been preparing 18 long months for this moment, and the decision was between Jonathan Donville and Adam Charalambidies.

It was an interesting first round with some movement of picks and jockeying for position- which made for a great draft night.

This week on the OTCBPodcast we welcome the newest member of the Saskatchewan Rush, Matt Beers, and the captain of The OJLL Champions St. Catharines Athletics, Thomas Whitty.

Beers had been a member of the Vancouver Warriors organization since they were the Washington Stealth, winning the NLL Championship in 2010. The heart and soul of the Warriors team, Beers will be a massive loss. But man, are the Rush gonna be an absolute wagon out the back end.

Whitty took his game and teammates to another level in his final Jr A game on Saturday. An instant classic versus the Brampton Excelsiors, Whitty and the Athletics made up for the lost chance to win the Minto Cup by lifting the Iroquois Trophy and drinking some delicious milk.

This week on the Off the CrosseBar Podcast we welcome all round great guy and one half of the Back of the Bird podcast, Dan Lomas.

If you haven't listened to BOTB quite yet, you're a few epic episodes behind. Lomas and Co-Host Paul Dawson, are lacrosse's version of Spittin' Chicklets and do a great job getting players to open up and tell stories from the road.

Unfortunately for Dan, he tore his Achilles tendon in the Kodiaks first game of the MSL Classic. But he's not letting it get the best of him and is already turning a season ending injury into a silver lining into bigger things.

With the announcement of the IOC granting World Lax full recognition, it's another step towards us actually seeing Lacrosse Sixes played in the Olympics. Steve has been a part of the World Lacrosse advisory board as an independent director for the last couple of years, so he's got a lot of the answers to many of our questions. We're in but we're not officially in.

As voice of the Halifax Thunderbirds, Pat Gregoire can't wait to get back inside The Nest on December 4th. He's also been busy with CoolBet Canada as we all hope to be able to lay some best on lacrosse in the near future. Plus we'll talk to him about the 2nd half of the PLL season and take a look at the upcoming OJALL bubble season.
