Other Side of the Mirror: A Once Upon a Time fan podcast

We're back with a double episode live reaction to Sisters and Firebird!

Sisters gave us something we've wanted forever – sisterly development between Regina and Zelena, plus mother/daughter moments between Zelena and Cora! The actresses killed it. We almost died of feels, but recovered in time to watch Firebird.

A big thank you to our newest patrons, Emma and Hope!

This is our live reaction and recap to Ruby Slippers.

This live reaction has us going from cynicism to puddles of feels by the end of the episode – a feat as rare as a great Once episode:

We discus the following:

• All our feels.
• Our preference for this Oz storyline over the one from season 3.
• The incredible performance of Bex Mader & Greg German.

This a Live reaction and recap to The Brothers Jones. It was recorded while we watched. We had a great time this week discussing Mutiny! And other topics that grabbed out attention during this episode. Our thoughts include:

• Henry being ready to star in a John Green novel (now casting: Manic Pixie Dream Girl)
• Snow White's shabby chic style.
• Hook's March Madness brackets going bust.
• The discount version of Jeffrey Rush aka John Silver.
• And whether CGI hair and waves took the place of Robin Hood in this week's budget.

SHOW NOTES

We have feedback from Raissa (regarding Greek mythology) and Karyn (our patron!) and voicemails from @ThatTownMonster (aka Rumple), and Danielle (Captain Swanner). Also we ask our listeners how the heck did Rumple and Milah meet? Why did they get married? Let us know your theories and head canons!

This episode had it all. Bourbon (for us). Babies (for everyone but Milah). Magical horses (for Regina).

And as somebody said this episode, now we are just “one step closer to hell.” This is our instant recap reaction of Helpful Dead Person.

In our live reaction to Labor of Love, Alex's grumpiness about Hook goes away with the intake of Guinness and Girl Scout cookies and Bri's Snow White positivity. We discuss the pleasant reappearance of the story arc started with season 2's We Are Both and the continuity between Young Snow and Snow. We are unimpressed with everything going on with Emma, including her sniffing blood on that poison ivy leaf. We are in love with Regina's reactions to Snow White, the Blind Witch and Hades.

This was our live reaction to Once Upon a Time's 100th episode, Souls of the Departed. We dissect the ins and outs of the episode, including our amazement at Lana Parrilla, our love for the scene between Henry and Henry, our sadness over the direction of Emma Swan, and much more. It was straight-from-the-hip for us tonight, so please feel free to email or call us with your thoughts!

Wendy is also the author of Red's Untold Tale, Miss Match, The Secret Life of a Teenage Siren, and Lifted.

Red's Untold Tale is a part of Once Upon a Time's canon. We discuss how the book came about, the approval process between Wendy and ABC, Disney and Adam Kitsis and Eddie Horowitz, Red's character development and more.

In this All Mailbag episode of Other Side of the Mirror, we check the pulse of the fandom and discuss the reaction to Season 5A. Included in this discussion are the following:

• How fans define “Season 1”
• Our amazement at the concept of characters and storylines being “on pause.”
• An article from Entertainment Tonight where the creators discuss Dark Swan.
• Closure??!
• “A crime of opportunity” essentially meaning Rumple's gonna Rumple
• How Season 5 would've gone if Rumple never reclaimed the Dark One mantle
• How Season 5 would've gone if Emma had sacrificed herself instead of Hook

And most of all, great feedbag from these Oncers:

• @VRNSwift (Strawberried)
• Mo
• Karyn
• Hope
• Jamie
• Paige
• Andrea
• Raissa

This was our live reaction to Swan Song, season 5A's winter finale. We recorded this WHILE watching, so you can live our emotions as they happened. We probably laughed longer and harder about this episode than any episode in a long time, so we hope you enjoy it as much as we apparently did.

And there was also a side dish of righteous outrage, as we watched the show's final five minutes, where OUAT decided to Recycle ALL of the Plots and throw both Belle and Rumple under the bus once and for all.

Also: we play Parental Abandonment Bingo, ask the question “But did they have sex?”, use flawless logic to name the baby girl Cotton Mills, and establish a new “I Killed My Dad” Club (forgetting to make Regina a member in the process!)
