In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church or LDS Church), members are split up into 'wards' based on geographic location. If there is a high concentration of people that are singles and in the same age range, they are given the choice to go to a 'singles ward.' And that's where a lot of interesting things come into play... singles wards have a good mixture of people dying to get married, people who want to party it up in their single life, and people who don't have any desire to get married.
