In this episode, I explore how colonization has influenced our culture and self-care practices. Recently, I decided to straighten my curls as a way to take care of myself, but it made me wonder if I was ashamed of my Mexican heritage. Upon further reflection, I recognized the combination of Spanish and indigenous roots in my Mexican heritage. While past trauma can impact our ability to care for ourselves, it's important to allow ourselves to make changes and work towards becoming our own allies in the future.
