David Wilmot is an attorney, businessman, lobbyist and activist. He's an expert in local government, corporate and commercial real estate development, and promotion of minority and small businesses. He came to New York at 17 from St. Martin. He joined the military, choosing the Air Force for the educational benefits. David went through the Air Force’s Bootstrap program and graduated from the University of Arkansas. David didn’t experience segregation until moving to Arkansas. While there, however, he became one of the first African American’s to attend University of Arkansas at Little Rock as an undergrad, and to be hired in a major administrative position in the city of Little Rock. Another highlight of his time spent in Arkansas came when, at a social event, he unexpectedly met legendary civil rights leaders that influenced his decision to go on to law school. He continued civil rights activism while at Georgetown Law School and continues it today in Our Town’s community. David Wilmot has been the Dean of Georgetown Law School and General Counsel for the Washington Convention Center, among other things. Tom McMillen is a retired professional basketball player, Rhodes Scholar, former US Congressman, crazy successful businessman and philanthropist. He played collegiate ball for Lefty Driesell and together with his teammates Len Elmore and John Lucas helped the Coach turn University of Maryland’s Basketball program around. Tom played on the 1972 Olympics team in Munich and was a Rhodes Scholar. He completed the Rhodes program while playing in the NBA. He was a first round draft pick. He’s been a US Congressman and on the President’s Council for Physical Fitness as the youngest appointee. He then Co-Chaired the Council with Flo Jo after retiring from Basketball and leaving Congress. He’s been in ten public companies and real estate and his health is good. He’s latest venture is Nexstar – the second largest television company in the US. He is a big supporter of the Humane Society and still goes to Fight Night to benefit children. Bob Ryan, retired Meteorologist, worked in Radio and TV broadcast in Our Town for 33 years. He was chief meteorologist at WRC-TV as part of the Channel 4 Dream Team for 30 years with Jim Vance, Doreen Gentzler, Arch Campbell and George Michael and 3 years at WJLA with Gordon Peterson and Maureen Bunyan, and again with Arch Campbell. You’d also hear him regularly on WMAL-AM630 with among others Trumbull and Core, and Harden and Weaver. He's remembers April 4, 1968 - the date Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated and how his Parish came together that night. He also remembers the help he received from the community for his kids at St. Augustine's. He has spent the last 25 years at Georgetown University putting on retreats and teaching.
