I feel if I'm going to talk about biblical figures I should post on Sunday. This is about Zipporah, the wife of Moses. I also talk about my love for A Tribe Called Quest, R.I.P Phife Dawg. As always, do your research and enjoy.
This episode is about another brilliant doctor, still time a dentist named Dr. Barbra(Bobbi) Peterson. Peterson is also and author with a children's book about taking care of your teeth This isn't back in the day stuff, no this is right now, as we live and breathe stuff. Please look this woman up and enjoy.
This fact actually brew my mind. I never thought about laser eye surgery let alone who was the inventor. This episode is about that very person. Now I messed the name up a few times and may have even said the first Black female to receive a patent, she WAS the first Black female doctor to receive a patent. I've said it before I know things and how it comes out my mouth sometimes facts are mixed up or missing and I am all for being corrected or correcting myself. Please do some research and enjoy.
Here is a great piece of Black history, two cousins, Roberta G. Thomas and Flaurience Sengstacke, traveled Europe during the early 1930s. The stories of their travel were published in the Chicago Defender. Do your research on these women enjoy.
This post is from last year, before I even thought doing this podcast, and I never got around to posting this. It makes more sense to do so now with it being Women's History Month. This is about The Queen Mother Yaa Asantewaa of the Ejisu of The Ashanti Empire. Her father was exiled and she stepped and motivated her people stand up against The British in the late 1800s. Please do some research on this woman and the whole war itself. I also found out the picture we've been led to people was The Queen Mother isn't her at all. This picture I've posted is from 1900 and its more peaceful looking than the gun holding medal wearing solider that has been seen by so many of us. I have to thank Mac Jordan who posted the picture last year on Twitter. Please do your research and enjoy. Email any comments [email protected]
This episode is filled with nostalgia and good vibes, to a degree, as the show this segment comes from was all slow jam music. That brought me to topic of my Black History moment. Elsie B Washington is credited as being the author who gave the world the first Black romance novel. Please do some research on this lady and always enjoy the show.
If you know me you I'll watch The Olympics all day, until i realize that I'm watching a replay. This time of the year had me thinking about one of the greatest figure skaters in the world. Please do some research on Surya Bonaly.
We can't, shouldn't, talk about Black History Month without speaking on Carter G. Woodson first. This idea started with him. I'm still not sure if I spoke on him last year, but this will something I will do every first show in February.

This past week has made the one year anniversary of doing the Black History Moment on my mix show. It took a little longer to start posting that portion of the show on the podcast. I just want to thank everyone who listens for listening. I'm still figuring some things out here and there so enjoy the ride.

To a fault I'm one of those "Keep It Real" guys. I rarely like artists who are pop no matter what the music is. On my Wednesday night show I rock classic music and I rocked some music I really don't like. The reason was because those artists and their music kept Hip Hop relevant and on MTV as well as Top 40 radio. Love it or hate you can't deny that those artists had a major impact on the charts and culture.
