Last week was difficult. My recent motorcycle accident left me with a smashed ankle and a concussion. After two doctor visits, multiple x-rays and still no answers, I started feeling hopeless.
We all go through tough times. Life is packed full of ups and downs. I hope today's episode encourages you that nothing is wrong with you, you are not alone and empowers you with some tools to manage the struggle.
Today I talk about:
- How I ended up in a dark place
- My struggle to get out
- Why uncertainty is difficult on the human brain
- The mother robin who taught me to notice beauty
- The gamble of life
- 3 things that hurt me and 3 things that helped me
Last week I had a wreck on my motorcycle. Thankfully my gear saved my life and I just have to recover from a concussion and a severely swollen ankle. I’ve had a lot of time to think about my accident and work through my big feelings. Although I am extremely bummed about my situation, there has been some really valuable insight that has come to me in the midst of it.
This week I share:
The story of how I wrecked
My struggle of shame
Statistics of vehicle accidents that occur close to home
Why this is such a common occurrence
The shocking resemblance and statistics of child abuse
How we can protect our children better
Why our comfort zone is actually the most dangerous place to be

Does our current political climate have you tied up in fear?
Are you overwhelmed with all the issues and unsure of where to start?
Do you feel stuck in constant panic?
Chances are, if you are human, you have/are experiencing a lot of feelings about the scary things happening right now in our country.
From my own life experiences and learning, I have found 4 simple steps that I share with you today, to help you move out of fear and into a grounded confidence.

Search for sunshine
Ask yourself, “What is mine to carry?”
In this episode, I unpack these 4 steps.

Ever feel like your life is like a roller coaster?
Are you spending all your energy trying to find a way off?
Me too.
Recently, we went on a trip and came home with the stomach bug. As I spent the next couple of days caring for my family, I had some important realizations. Join me today as I share my experience and my new plan for navigating life’s roller coaster.
Today you will learn:
The truth about life
My plan to go “pro”
The 4 steps to becoming an expert roller coaster rider
4 Fun Facts about roller coasters
How yelling “Rock on” can help us move from fear to adventure
An interview with Avriella!
This week’s episode features one of my favorite podcast guests, Avriella, who comes back to the show to share her valuable perspectives on what she is learning in life. I am again amazed and grateful for this young woman's insight and wisdom. I may be slightly partial, but just take a listen and see for yourself. I don’t think you will regret it!
Today we discuss:
A traumatizing experience at the vet
Why Avriella doesn’t like the book I just read
How she chooses to think about all the parts of herself
What she does when she learns about new things
How our brains help us escape cults
Why we shouldn’t believe everything we read
After a pretty shitty week trying to problem solve and coming up with nothing but frustration, I finally turned to a book I recently got at the library.
“Don’t Believe Everything You Think” by Joseph Nguyen.
He explains why our thinking is the beginning and end of suffering.
Honestly, I am not even sure if it works, but in today’s episode, I share my new experiment of trusting divine intuition to send me answers.
Being in a state of panic and stress has never helped me find clarity. I believe there HAS to be a better way. Religion wrecked my life, but I believe that we are all intrinsically connected through nature and that the answers are inside us, waiting for us to be quiet and listen.
I highly recommend the book! Reading it brought me such peace, and where peace is, that is always where I want to be.
After 41 years and a lot of pain, there are a few things I have learned:
Not everyone is going to like me
Speaking up for the vulnerable will always piss off the bullies
It’s not worth being silent just to be accepted by others
I get to choose how to spend my time and what matters to me
Nature never apologizes
My life is too precious to waste on caring about what others think about me.
“I would rather be blinded by the light than run into something trying to see in the dark.”
This episode is an eclectic combination of events that happened and things I have been pondering. From nature and its uncontrollable habits to my first experience drinking a martini, there is a little bit of something in this podcast for everyone!
