Justin checks in by phone with Dare County Commissioner MaryEllon Ballance from Hatteras to get the latest on what’s happening at the southern end of our little strip of sand! Commissioner Ballance brings us up to speed on the emergency ferry, the latest situation with Highway 12 on Pea Island, and how you can stay informed on the latest developments on Cape Hatteras National Seashore. If you’re keeping tabs on life south of Oregon Inlet, this is one conversation you’ll want to hear!

Michael MacLean (aka Mike-Mike) from Master Heating and Cooling joins Justin on the podcast to talk about One Pitch For Tatum, a charity softball tournament happening Saturday, September 5, beginning at 8 am at Family Recreation Park in Kill Devil Hills. Tatum Beale was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy at just two months old, and now the Outer Banks community is stepping up to support this little girl and her family as they face an incredibly difficult journey. 

It’s one softball tournament with one big mission: One Girl. One Big Fight. One Whole Community. Come out, show your support and let’s rally together for Tatum!
