This week's Raw was the go-home episode before Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view, making it the red brand's final chance to make any changes to the card.

After suffering a brutal attack from Bobby Lashley inside Hell in a Cell, Xavier Woods returned this week to get his rematch before Lashley faces Kofi Kingston for the WWE title this weekend.

We also saw the women's MITB participants battle in a Fatal 4-Way. Asuka, Naomi, Alexa Bliss and Nikki A.S.H. all wanted to go into the PPV with a little momentum.

NXT Great American Bash is one of the true special nights of the year for the black-and-gold brand. Some of the absolute best come out to make their mark, and the WWE NXT card for this year promised nothing less.

Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole have been at each other's throats for months. Their brutal Unsanctioned Match was exciting, but it is time for these men to show who is truly the better man. One on one, they would battle is a classic singles match.

MSK has faced a plethora of dangerous rivals. None can do quite the damage that Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher can. These motivated veterans promised to show Nash Carter and Wes Lee their place in NXT.

The NXT Women's Tag Team Championships were also on the line as The Way faced the unlikely duo of Io Shirai and Zoey Stark. Both individually talented, The Genius of the Sky and her new partner needed to show they could co-exist against the dangerous threat of Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell.

LA Knight has tormented Cameron Grimes at every turn. He got in the way of The Technical Savage becoming the new Million Dollar Man, and he injured the WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase because he could. Grimes would get one more chance to prove himself, but if he lost, Knight would make him his butler.

These matches were the big promises of the night, but several other matches were also on the horizon for a show with major stakes and promising future clashes!

We're just under two weeks away from the annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view, but the red brand has already set up all of its storylines for the show, so this week's Raw was all about keeping things moving and making each feud more important.

After taking a brutal chop block to the back of her knee from Rhea Ripley last week, Charlotte requested time to address her status on Monday's show. 

The Miz also secured a non-wrestling segment for a special MITB episode of Miz TV. His guests were the four participants in the men's Money in the Bank match from Raw: Ricochet, John Morrison, Riddle and Drew McIntyre.

Riddle and Morrison met for a rematch after both men were counted out during their encounter last week. We also saw Bobby Lashley team up with MVP to face Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston in a tag team match.

The march toward Money in the Bank on July 18 continued Friday on WWE SmackDown with a Last Man Standing match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to determine the latest competitor in the PPV's high-stakes namesake.

That match headlined a show that also promised the fallout from Edge's return a week ago and the subsequent revelation that The Rated R Superstar will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the upcoming spectacular.

Just one week before NXT Great American Bash, the black-and-gold brand had a few more surprises in store. Top talent wanted an opportunity, and everyone was willing to step over others to get there.

The WWE NXT women's tag team champions needed challengers for NXT GAB, so a triple threat was set to determine who would fight Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez battled Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon as well as Io Shirai and Zoey Stark.

MSK has weathered every storm to date, but Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher promised something else entirely. Ahead of a certain-to-be-physical title bout, MSK would face down these veteran grapplers.

Cameron Grimes has not competed in a ring since his loss to LA Knight. Luckily, he was motivated by the recent attack of Ted DiBiase by the new champion and promised to compete again.

Tian Sha has made Mercedes Martinez's life a living hell, but she finally found some help in Jake Atlas. The two would fight Xia Li and Boa in a mixed tag match.

This show had a few more missing pieces to put together ahead of Great American Bash. It was certain to be an exciting and jam-packed show!

Money in the Bank is WWE's next pay-per-view on July 18, but it already feels like management is also setting up certain storylines for SummerSlam on August 21.

After failing to qualify last week, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles were going to battle to see which one of them gets one of the spots in the Money in the Bank ladder match. After we found out The Viper was unable to compete, Riddle talked management into letting him fight on Orton's behalf in a Battle Royal.

Rhea Ripley teamed up with Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke to take on Charlotte, Tamina and Natalya in a six-woman tag bout that combined two feuds into one.

We also saw Kofi Kingston confront MVP about the way Bobby Lashley attacked Xavier Woods last week, and Jaxson Ryker faced Elias in a Strap match.

NXT changed last week with the arrival of Samoa Joe as William Regal's enforcer. The Samoan Submission Specialist demanded respect from the roster and brought some order to the chaos.

The first order of business was to deal with the animosity between Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole. The two will fight at NXT Great American Bash, but first they would battle opponents of their choice.

KOR wanted the best, so he stepped up to the NXT cruiserweight champion Kushida. In a non-title match, O'Reilly had a chance to prove himself at the highest level. Cole's opponent was unclear, but this would be his first match on NXT TV in months.

Io Shirai and Zoey Stark joined forces to combat The Way, but first the team needed to build some credibility before challenging the NXT women's tag team champion. This week, they would fight the team of Aliyah and Jessi Kamea.

Franky Monet promised a massive second act with her World Premiere Encore. The mysterious Diamond Mine would finally open its doors. Ever-Rise looked for some measure of revenge after recent attacks and insults from Hit Row.

While much was promised, few moments on the night were fully clear. This card had a chance to shock many if NXT continued to evolve with the arrival of Joe!

Sunday's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view didn't feature any titles changing hands, but it did see one Superstar lose his ability to challenge for the WWE Championship for the foreseeable future.

When Drew McIntyre lost to Bobby Lashley inside Hell in a Cell, he also lost any right to fight for the belt while The All Mighty has it around his waist. Seeing as how Lashley has been a dominant champion, that could be quite some time.

We also saw Alexa Bliss defeat Shayna Baszler, Rhea Ripley retained the Raw Women's Championship over Charlotte Flair, and Natalya picked up a singles victory over Mandy Rose.

Last week's Raw featured the return of Eva Marie and her new protege, Doudrop. The woman who ended up wrestling for Eva is actually Piper Niven from NXT UK, so she is not a total stranger to the WWE Universe.

This week's Raw dealt with all of the fallout from Hell in a Cell while beginning the buildup toward the Money in the Bank PPV on July 18.
