With just one week before WWE Fastlane 2021 and WrestleMania 37 less than one month away, the Road to WrestleMania was heating up. The March 12 edition of Friday Night SmackDown promised major faceoffs between top stars.

Daniel Bryan earned an opportunity to fight Roman Reigns at WWE Fastlane by defeating Jey Uso last week. He and The Head of the Table were required to sign the contract for their match this week, stepping into the same ring with hatred brewing between them.

Kevin Owens invited the two women set to fight at WrestleMania 37 on to "The KO Show," Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Before their battle at The Show of Shows and even before they teamed up to face Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax at Fastlane, the two women had a chance to talk about their future.

Apollo Crews has allowed his true colors to shine through, embracing his heritage but also a ruthless, egotistical edge. His first act was to badly injure Big E, and the WWE intercontinental champion returned this week with plans for revenge.

The blue brand did not have any major matches promised for the night, but anything could happen. Each of these segments had a chance to lay the groundwork for some of the biggest clashes of the year for WWE.

Anything can happen on The Road to WrestleMania, and NXT was pulling no punches with a huge night for March 10. The primary focus was a pair of guaranteed must-watch title matches.

Finn Balor laid out a challenge to finally get Adam Cole to come out of hiding. He put his NXT Championship on the line against the former member of The Undisputed Era, letting Cole attempt to reclaim his lost gold.

Toni Storm called out Io Shirai, telling the world that The Genius of the Sky was afraid of her. The NXT women's champion answered by setting up a title match between them. These longtime rivals would have a chance to steal the show like they once did in the Mae Young Classic final.

If that were not enough, general manager William Regal promised two major announcements that would change the landscape in NXT. After last week's controversy with Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai, as well as plenty of talk about the future of NXT, this was an opportunity to set the record straight.

Xia Li sent Kacy Catanzaro home injured in a harrowing one-sided battle. Kayden Carter wanted payback for her friend and tag team partner. She challenged her to a battle that Tian Sha could watch closely.

This show had the makings of an NXT TakeOver, potentially rewriting the future of NXT based on who emerged victorious and what NXT's GM had to say.

One week after defeating The Miz to win his first WWE Championship, Bobby Lashley defended his title against The Hollywood A-Lister in the main event of Monday's Raw.

With a little more than two weeks until WWE Fastlane on March 21, Daniel Bryan faced Jey Uso inside a Steel Cage. The Yes Man has been in a feud with Uso and Roman Reigns for a little while, and this week gave Bryan another chance to prove he is one of the blue brand's best.

We also saw Bianca Belair take on Shayna Baszler. These two will be opponents in a women's tag title bout at Fastlane, so Sasha Banks and Nia Jax could find themselves in the ring next week.

The March 3 edition of WWE NXT was a night of tag team excellence as the WWE women's tag team champions made a special appearance on the black-and-gold brand.

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler have been dominant titleholders, but Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai ran through the women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic to earn this shot. Everything was on the line as the NXT pairing may not get another chance at the gold.

After The Grizzled Young Veterans attacked men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winners MSK, it left NXT tag team champions Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan without an opponent for this week. But Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher stepped up for a non-title clash.

These two big matches were sure to define the night, but there was more promised in the form of wild entertainment.

Johnny Gargano lost last week to Dexter Lumis after Austin Theory hesitated to help him. The Rebel Heart decided it was time for The Way to take the recently abducted star to therapy.

After weeks of taunting the NXT Universe, LA Knight was finally ready to make his presence felt on the black-and-gold brand. And the charismatic star had plenty to say about his future.

This week's NXT was a mix of major matches and ridiculous entertainment!

On the Road to WrestleMania, anything can happen. WWE knows that, and the company hopes everyone else does as well. For that reason, the March 1 edition of Monday Night Raw did not promise much going in.

After an exciting WWE Elimination Chamber, The Miz walked out as WWE champion, shocking the world. However, it was time for him to pay the piper. He had enlisted Bobby Lashley's help at the event, and he was given just one week before he had to defend against The All Mighty.

Since losing to Drew McIntyre in controversial fashion, Lashley has looked unstoppable. He won the WWE United States Championship with ease and only lost it because Riddle pinned John Morrison, never defeating the actual champion.

The A-Lister may be a mastermind with many plans to keep his gold, but The All Mighty is a force beyond all planning. No one can beat Lashley on his best day, and this was his chance to finally win the WWE Championship.

Before he got that opportunity in the main event, McIntyre promised to return to WWE. Would he be able to focus on what was stolen from him, or would Sheamus make it clear that his former friend had another promise to keep first?

This edition of the red brand had every opportunity to blow the WWE Universe away. However, with little promised ahead of time, fans had to just hope WWE had a grander plan with just one month before WWE WrestleMania 37!

On the heels of an Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in which Edge revealed his intention to challenge for Roman Reigns' Universal Championship, SmackDown hit the Fox airwaves Friday with the promise of 2021 Royal Rumble winner Bianca Belair announcing her title opposition for WrestleMania 37.

The EST's big moment headlined a show that prominently featured tag team action as that particular division heats up on Friday nights.

After having their fight postponed last week, Karrion Kross and Santos Escobar met for their No Disqualification match on Wednesday's episode of NXT.

This week's show also saw former friends Xia Li and Kacy Catanzaro do battle after Li attacked Catanzaro and Kayden Carter and left them battered and bruised.

The Grizzled Young Veterans were looking to avenge their loss in the Dusty Rhodes Classic when they took on Killian Dain and Drake Maverick.

The title scene on Raw looks much different following the events from Sunday's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

Not only did Riddle win the U.S. title from Bobby Lashley in a Triple Threat match that also included John Morrison, but The Miz won the WWE Championship after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract after Drew McIntyre had retained the title in a grueling Chamber bout.

The Miz didn't do this alone. He had Lashley to soften McIntyre up for him, which leads to the possibility that MVP and Lashley made some kind of deal to offer their assistance.
