Back in 1855, Pembroke and Petawawa residents would look forward to receiving their daily copy of the Pembroke Daily Observer...until it was announced that the publication would be discontinued in 2018.

However, the Daily Observer became the Pembroke Observer, dropping down to a weekly paper, and like all journalists and reporters in print media, they saw how things shifted and the sharing of news progressed to online and social media and saw more newspapers in recycling bins instead of on coffee tables.

This now brings me to our guest, Tina Peplinskie, a longtime journalist at the Pembroke Observer, who many of us know (or have been interviewed!) through her excellent reporting skills, capturing stories and ability to meet a deadline like no other.
