After starting her career as a nurse in 1885, "Jolly" Jane Toppan started wracking up countless victims to her experimentations with various poisons. Some of these victims survived, many did not. It wasn't until 1901, when Nurse Jane killed an entire family that she was finally stopped. In Part 1 we explore Nurse Jane's childhood, how she started her nursing career and became one of the most successful private nurses in her area. Nurse Jane first began by killing those that were misfortunate enough to fall under her care and then she became more intentional with her targets killing those close to her and anyone left in the wake of her crimes.

Shortly after having his desires publicly rejected on "Megan Wants a Millionaire", Ryan Jenkins was living in Las Vegas in 2009, when he met Jasmine Fiore. Within 48 hours of meeting, the two are married, with promises that he would spoil her with all the finer things of life and really take care of her. The relationship quickly turns toxic and by August the same year, neither are alive.

On Staten Island, children grew up fearing the boogeyman, Cropsey. The legend of Cropsey is that of an escaped patient of a mental institution that would take children, he allegedly had a hook for a hand and any possibility of coming into contact with him would invoke fear in children growing up in Staten Island. But in the early 1970s through the late 1980's, it seemed to the community that Cropsey had come to life and children were starting to disappear never to be seen again. It is only after a victim's remains are found that this real life Cropsey is given a face, and a name... Andre Rand. Multiple missing persons cases have been attributed to Andre Rand including the disappearance of Alice Pereira, Holly Ann Hughes, Tiahease Jackson, Hank Gafforio and ultimately the murder of Jennifer Schweiger, whose body is the only one that has been found and finally ends the Cropsey nightmare.

In 2007 Stacy Peterson, the 4th wife of a police Sergeant in Illinois, goes missing. Her husband, Drew Peterson, claims she "ran off" with just a bikini and some cash, but this unlikely explanation becomes even more unlikely given the strange circumstances surrounding the death of his 3rd wife Kathleen Savio. Kathleen's death was previously ruled "accidental" but after Drew's most recent wife's disappearance, a new attorney for the State decides to take a fresh look at Kathleen's death, which was now being ruled a homicide.

Christy Martin stepped into the boxing ring for the first time in 1986 with zero training, zero experience but all the heart in the world. She quickly grabbed the attention of boxing promoters and was introduced to a man named Jim Martin who would become her boxing coach and husband. With her raw talent and tenacity, Christy Martin paved the way and made a name for females in professional boxing. However, despite her success in the ring and her seeming to be untouchable, her trainer husband had an abusive hold on her through physical and emotional abuse. This is something the outside world wouldn't be privvy to until November 23, 2010 when Christy is stabbed and shot by Jim Martin and left to die... but just like her fighting spirit in the ring, she didn't go down for the count and she survived. This is the story of Christy Martin's 50th win...

On November 22, 2018, which was Thanksgiving, Kelsey Berreth is last seen on surveillance with her one year old daughter while shopping at a local grocery store. This is the last time she is seen alive in public. After 10 days she is reported missing, but not by her fiance and father of her child. She is reported missing by her mom, that doesn't even live in the same state as her. Suspicion falls on her fiance, Patrick Frazee pretty quickly and within a month of her disappearance, he is arrested for her murder. He may have committed the act of murder alone, but you will find out that he had an accomplice in covering up his brutal crime.

On November 2, 2016 Sherri Papini was jogging nearby her home in Redding, CA when she goes missing. Her husband returns home from work to find his home empty, his two children still at day care, long after their normal pick up time, and his wife is nowwhere to be found. He tracks her phone down to about a mile away from their home, but when he goes to that location, that's all that is there... just her phone. No sign of his wife. For 22 long days Sherri Papini seemed to have vanished into thin air and the police have no leads as to where she may be. But just as quickly as she disappeared, she reappeared. However, her reappearance leaves more unanswered questions than her actual disappearance.

Staying with our October/Halloween theme for last month, we tell of the Halloween murder of Rebekah Gay, which was the culmination of a lifetime of violence against women by her murderer John Douglas White, who was posing as a devout man and the pastor of local church.
Bo and Big Jim tell us about the Norwegian death metal band Mayhem, who is still performing today with a couple of the original bandmembers. A lot of bands have break ups and make ups, but this band has members that make their break ups extremely final, by suicide and murder.

On Halloween, 1973, 9 Year Old Lisa French began trick or treating on her way to a community event. She was alone, so to be safe, she was only knocking on the doors of people that she was familiar with... a classmate, a school teacher, and Gerald Turner, who her family previously shared opposite sides of a duplex with. These are the three doors she knocked on... the third one, of Gerald Turner, was the last door she ever knocked on...
What Gerald Turner does to Lisa French is beyond comprehension and as a result of his atrocities, rules and regulations have been set up by the State of Wisconsin to create a safer trick or treating environment for its residents, even to this day. On Halloween of 1974, Ronald O'Bryan became the original candyman. He is the reason we check our Halloween candy every year looking for that one wrapper that seems to be slightly out of place. However, our current fears take us to candy from strangers, but what if it is your own father handing over a piece of candy? This must be the safest candy to a child... Unfortunately this was not the case with Timothy O'Bryan, as it was his own father who was the monster with the poisoned candy.
