Steps to practice feeling more joy:

1: Think of a joyful moment in your life.

2: Let your body settle into that moment. Take a deep breath.

3: Notice how your body responds to being in that joyful moment.  If your body doesn’t respond to that memory, choose a different one.

4: When you feel joy in the memory.  Hold onto it.  Watch the thoughts.

5: When your brain shifts and wants to let go, note how long it lasted.  This is your starting point.

6: Practice lengthening the time you feel joy.

7: When you feel the flicker of joy during the day…stay with it.  Hold it and start with step 2 again.

8: Repeat.

That’s because I made it up.

I added a holiday to the busiest time of the year.

Why would anyone do that?

Truth is that it’s saved my sanity.

How could adding something to an already packed month make me say that it saved my sanity?  It’s brought me peace, excitement and a TON of joy, actually!

Journaling is basically writing down your thoughts and feelings so you can understand them more clearly.

While some of our more difficult feelings are what we usually think about when we journal, there are other things we can write about too.

Not that I want to tell you what to journal about, but I would like to make a suggestion that may open up some new ideas.

Today, I’d like to talk about positive journaling.

Writing about the good things that are happening or exciting and happy things that you’d like to have happen.

That sounds nice doesn’t it.

Maybe another way to daydream.

Perhaps we could call it, Gratitude Journaling.
