  • #11 - Brigham Buhler
Brigham Buhler is the founder of Ways2Well, a company that is positively disrupting the broken United States healthcare system. We can break through to a new way of living healthy and create a financial healthcare system that won’t break us. Brigham talks today about how he has overcome family trauma, spent years working for insurance and pharmaceutical companies, and is now here as a visionary to revolutionize health care and help us all overcome the old system and grow in new ways.

Towards the end of the conversation, we flip the script and have heart to heart about me going back to a drug treatment facility. I was grateful he would speak plainly with me as I prepared to head in with a new perspective. Instead of being full of shame, and hoping to attack what’s been attacking me (the addiction), I’ve decided to love the hell out of myself. We must love ourselves like our lives depend on it. Why? Because it does.

  • #10 - Justin Wren on Why I’m Going Back to Rehab/Treatment
They say: “If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.” I’ve stopped digging and I’ve reached out for help. I wanted to get really real with y’all in this episode and let you in behind the curtain of when I relapsed. I believe this episode will be a resource to anyone who has personally struggled with addiction or loves someone who has. It’s an inside look, or, sort of, an “addict’s guide to addiction.” I’ve found a great place to go get some healing, self-care, and do some deep work to gain new tools to hopefully stay out of the hole of substance abuse in the future.

I’m doing this podcast the night before I head into a drug treatment facility for the second time in my life. I’m amazed by the support, but I’m on a journey of self-discovery to get below the topsoil, below the substances, and to the underlying root causes. I share some stories of what’s been happening... some of the good, the bad, and the ugly. I will talk with my doctor and friend Daniel Amen (12x NYT Best Selling Author and Psychiatrist) in one of the next episodes to come. It's a live therapy session we open up to our listeners, but that episode really inspired this one.

Overcome with Justin Wren will still be coming out every week. I recorded several powerful episodes as I prepared to go get some MUCH needed coaching, and I got some amazing coaching and advice here on the show to empower us to overcome our greatest challenges. It was hard, but I really tried to lean in and become comfortable being uncomfortable in front of a microphone after what some might label defeat. I’ve decided defeat is not a destination, it’s education. Progress isn’t linear. There are ups and downs to recovery, so I decided to share mine. My hope and prayer is that this will help someone, hopefully you. Time to Overcome.

  • #9 - Chris Long
Chris Long is an incredible man. I got closer to him as we climbed Mount Kilimanjaro together, along with NFL players and military veterans. We climbed 19,341 feet each to raise money for clean water wells. A football legacy, as the son of Howie Long, he has made his mark on his own and shares his wisdom and humor this week on a phenomenal episode. He knows a lot about overcoming - especially halfway through the game when you’re down. Don’t miss it!

  • #8 - Justin Wren Is More Inspired Than Ever
We’ve got something incredible to celebrate in this episode! That’s why we are doing our first solo cast, or duo cast with Amy, and don’t have a guest this time around. I’m the founder of the nonprofit Fight For The Forgotten and we just had our biggest two weeks ever as a nonprofit, which means we are gearing up to change more lives for the better than ever before.

In this episode, we relate my purpose and passion to you finding and pursuing your own. We talk about living a life of love and compassion and putting those forces of good into action. So get ready, buckle up, because we get into not only the history of Fight For The Forgotten, but forecast the amazing future ahead, and believe you’ll be inspired to leave an incredible legacy. Legacy, as much as we all want to leave one, it’s not for you, it’s your gift to the world. Our friends and family will all remember us, but it’s our actions and way of living, here and now, that will dictate if those memories are fond or foul. You’ve got it in you. Rise up, overcome.

Much love everyone. Get ready to be encouraged to the core.

  • #7 - Teddy Atlas
I believe this conversation with my dear friend and personal inspiration Teddy Atlas will move you. He is a former boxer, Hall of Fame boxing coach and cornerman, a world-renowned color commentator, and founder of a nonprofit. We went deep in this heartwarming but also gut-wrenching conversation. Teddy has inspired me in my fighting career and is someone I want to emulate in running a foundation that will hopefully leave a legacy like the Dr. Atlas Foundation. We talk about family, impact, purpose, and relate life to fighting.
