We call carry the roles we identify with in the world that can both serve us and hold us back from change. Whether we identify as “the good girl” or “the responsible one” or “the eldest” or the “selfless caregiver” or “the empath” or “the breadwinner”… When we try to make healthful changes in our lives, we can run into conflicts in which those roles or identities can come into conflict and can commonly interfere and sabotage what we say we want to achieve, often in unconscious and subtle ways which may look like distraction or procrastination or simply a lack of progress in ones tapping work. In this 3-part series on Secondary Gain categories we will explore how these show up, what they may look like and how to work with them.
Here’s the podcast episode on the overview of psychology reversal/secondary gains.
