What if we've reduced Christianity to a personal decision and church to a weekly service? In 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15, Paul describes a radically different way of life, one marked by commitment, accountability, sacrifice, and a shared mission. It's time to stop consuming church and start building it together.

You can process the same pain over and over and still never move forward. Jesus shows us that while our emotions matter, they don't get to dictate our obedience. In the final episode of our Healthy Emotional Processing series, Jim and Kate unpack the danger of getting trapped in a victim mentality, the enemy's attempts to exploit our pain, and the freedom that comes when we get up and take the next step God is calling us to take.

Jesus returned to His Father three times in the Garden of Gethsemane, bringing the same anguish to Him again and again. What does that mean for us when our emotions won't settle and our circumstances won't change? In this episode, Jim and Kate explore the freedom of returning to our Heavenly Father as often as we need, trusting Him to meet us in the mess and lead us into His peace.

Grief is real. Loss is painful. But death doesn't have the final word. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13โ18, Paul explains why followers of Jesus can face death with hope instead of despair. Because Jesus rose again, you can trust that death is not the end and that those who belong to Him will be with Him forever.ย

Love more. Live quiet. And work. It's a simple formula, but it runs against nearly everything our culture celebrates. We're encouraged to have an opinion about everything, stay informed about every controversy, and keep working until we've made something of ourselves. In 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12, Paul calls us to a different ambition: grow in love, mind our own business, and faithfully do the work in front of us. What might change in our families, churches, and communities if we stopped chasing the world's version of significance and started living out the Father's priorities?

The Father created us for fullness of life, not a perpetual cycle of emotional reactivity. In the fifth session of Healthy Emotional Processing, Jim and Kate look to Jesus in Gethsemane to learn how to identify the things triggering our emotions. As we slow down, receive the Father's love, and listen to the Holy Spirit, we can learn to separate perception from truth and respond to life with greater freedom. We don't have to be ruled by our reactions. We can learn to live from love, walk in truth, and experience the overflow of life with our Father.

We can spend so much energy trying to figure out the โrightโ path that we forget the God who is already walking with us. The Father has made His will clear: He wants His children to become more like Jesus. And He doesnโt ask us to accomplish that through our own effort or perfect decision-making. We live in the Overflow by responding to the love of the Father, following the example of Jesus, and living by the power of the Spirit. Maybe following Godโs will is less about finding the perfect path and more about learning to live from love.ย

Sometimes the hardest part of processing what we feel is actually talking about it. In this episode, Jim and Kate continue their eight-step journey into healthy emotional processing by exploring what it means to verbalize our feelings. They discuss why we need safe people, what makes someone trustworthy, why listening often matters more than offering solutions, and how Jesus gives us a model for bringing our emotional reality honestly to both trusted friends and our heavenly Father.
