  • But Wait, There's More! | 1 Thess 3:6-13

The Thessalonians were thriving in their faith—but they were still growing. In 1 Thessalonians 3:6–13, Paul shows us that spiritual growth doesn’t come from simply trying harder. The Father goes first, working within us to increase our love, strengthen our hearts, and transform our lives.

  • What's In Your Emotional Spice Rack? | Emotional Processing 3

What’s on your emotional spice rack? Anger? Fear? Joy? Disappointment? Maybe your rack has four spices. Maybe everything tastes like Tabasco. Maybe everything tastes like black licorice. Or maybe the whole thing is empty. In this episode, Jim and Kate tackle the third step of healthy emotional processing: identifying your feelings. Looking at Jesus in Gethsemane, they explore why naming an emotion matters, how to recognize its intensity, and how our behavior can reveal when we’re feeling something much more deeply than we realize. The invitation is to slow down, get honest, and let the Holy Spirit help you discover what’s going on inside.

  • Demonic Interference | 1 Thess 2:17-3:5

Spiritual warfare can be an uncomfortable subject, but Paul treats it as a normal reality of following Jesus. In 1 Thessalonians 2–3, he identifies Satan as the force behind opposition to his ministry and worries that the enemy might interfere with the spiritual growth of the Thessalonians. That doesn't mean every struggle is demonic, but Scripture calls us to consider spiritual opposition alongside sin, false beliefs, distractions, and wounds. The good news is that Christians don't have to live in fear of the enemy. The Holy Spirit gives us what we need to discern the battle, stand firm, and continue living in the abundance God our Father has provided.

  • Are You Allowing Yourself to Feel? | Emotional Processing 2

What if the problem isn’t that you feel too much, but that you don’t let yourself feel at all? In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus gives us a radically different model for emotional health. He doesn’t stuff his grief, minimize his distress, or pretend he’s fine. He allows himself to feel deeply and fully, even as he remains surrendered to the Father. Jim and Kate talk about the ways we learn unhealthy emotional patterns from family, culture, and experience, and why Jesus gives us permission to unlearn them. Healthy emotional processing isn’t about being ruled by our emotions or running from them. It’s about slowing down, paying attention, and allowing the Holy Spirit to meet us in what we actually feel.

  • What Does Real Faith Look Like? | 1 Thess 2:9-16

What does the evidence of genuine faith actually look like? In 1 Thessalonians 2, Paul points to a church whose faith wasn’t merely something they claimed. It was visible in the way they loved one another, received God’s Word, and remained steadfast in the face of suffering. Their lives had become evidence that the love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit was doing something real in them.

  • Who is Your Emotional Teacher? | Emotional Processing 1

Where did you learn how to handle your emotions? For most of us, the answer is not Jesus. We learned from our families, our culture, our experiences, and sometimes from people who never learned healthy emotional processing themselves. In the first episode of "8 Steps to Healthy Emotional Processing", Jim and Kate explore what it means to choose Jesus as our emotional teacher. Looking at Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, they discover a Savior who felt deeply without being controlled by His emotions, and who shows us that emotional health is not a personality trait, but a work of the Holy Spirit.

  • It's Not You, It's Me | 1 Thess 2:1-8

What if the real question isn’t simply, “What is God doing through me?” but, “What is God doing in me?” In 1 Thessalonians 2:1–8, Paul gives us a glimpse into the heart behind his ministry. His boldness came from God, his motives were shaped by a desire to please God, and his ministry was fueled by genuine love for people. In this episode, we explore how God’s work in our hearts ultimately shapes the way His work flows through our lives. Ministry isn’t just about what we do—it’s about who we are becoming as God works in us. Because what God does in you is never meant to stop with you.

  • What if You Could See? | 1 Thess 1:1-10

What if you could see what God is doing in the people around you? What if you could recognize the fingerprints of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in your own community and your own story? That is where Paul begins his letter to the Thessalonians. Their faith, love, and hope had become visible evidence of God’s work, and their lives were beginning to impact everyone around them. As we launch this new series through 1 and 2 Thessalonians, we’ll ask a simple but consequential question: Can you see what God is doing?

House joins us to talk about what happens when you keep saying yes to the Holy Spirit—and why you don't always have to climb a mountain to hear Him speak.

  • What Good Does It Do God If I Suffer? | Psalm 30

What if you prayed something as audacious as, “God, what good does it do You if I’m miserable?” David does exactly that in Psalm 30. But beneath the audacity is a profound truth about God's glory, our suffering, and the kind of life our Father actually wants for His children. What if sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is ask God to deliver us—not just for our sake, but for His?
