No Read November punishes us for the folly of our ways, as what was supposed to be a run romp of uncanny valley eyes turns into a slog of blockbuster drivel. Alita is a cyborg who is found in a dump by her German dad, except she knows kung-fu from her time living on mars, so now she can be the best at NASCAR but with murder. Hopefully that means she'll be able to pay off her delinquent boyfriend's tuition to Elysium, since being a bounty hunter didn't work out. This week, Matt, Sam, Jae, and Jacob watch and discuss... James Cameron's Alita: Battle Angel... yay...

We continue No-Read November (for some reason), by taking a break from reading manga to watching live-action movies based on it. This week Ichigo Kurasaki and way too many of his friends fight supernatural creatures called Hollows in varying degrees of sunlight to varying degrees of visual effectiveness. This week, Matt, Sam, Jae, and Jacob watch and discuss... the 2018 live-action Bleach movie... yay...

No-Read November begins in full force! This month we're taking a break from reading manga, to watch some movies. Edward Elric accidently traded his brother's body and an arm and a leg to get a flesh blog vaguely shaped like his mother. Now he's on a quest to catch the serial killer / genocide revenger Scar. It then kind of devolves into a weird collection of scenes from the anime loosely connected with unnecessary cgi. This week, Matt, Sam, Jae, and Jacob watch and discuss... the second live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie... yay...

Spooktober concludes the only way it can, with an isekai manga about a completely featureless protag being wiped away into the world of a 70s Slasher movie. However genre-savvy he may be, he finds himself trapped in the body of Summer, a voluptuous and sexually active cheerleader. Can he dodge the countless death flags tossed in his direction and survive the night? This week, Matt, Sam, Jae, and Jacob read and discuss Final Girl by You Kokikuji.

As the country selectively devolves into anarchy, the main cast of zombie-slaying teenagers get into sexually provocative situations as they... try to find their parents? The actually end-to-end goals are kinda vague. This week, Matt, Sam, and Jacob read and discuss High School of the Dead written by Daisuke Satō and illustrated by Shōji Satō.

The spooky month marches on, as we dive into a revisit of last year's Spooktober champion Franken Fran! The always optimistic Fran is back for more implausible medical marvels. Will a kaiju find true love? Will the horrible secret to eternal youth be uncovered? Will not one, but two divine entities be canonically confirmed to exist within the manga's world building? All these questions answered affirmatively and more within the grisly medical diaries of the mad scientist Fran. This week, Matt, Sam, Jae, and Jacob read and discuss Franken Fran by Katsuhisa Kigitsu.

Spooktober starts off fresh this year, as we dive inside the hollow flesh suit of a manga that is Gleipnir. Shuichi Kagaya is your average high schooler, except that when his passions erupt he is able to transform into a homicidal mascot costume. However, after rescuing/assaulting Claire Aoki from her attempted suicide, the girl wants to use her newfound monster to obtain everything she desires. And once she finds out that she can slide up inside his guts and pilot him like a flesh mecha, things begin to spiral out of control into a death battle for magic coins that can make dream come true. Yoichi Isagi made the rookie mistake of trusting his less-talented teammate, and now has lost any chance of making it to Nationals with his high school soccer team. But luckily, some made man with ambitions of building Japanese World Cup Champion team has given him a second chance; Blue Lock. A prison built to house all of Japan's star striker talent, to beat out the passivity and teamwork and cultivate the raw ego needed to mold the game of soccer to your whim. In a brutal survival game, the players inside the prison will compete until only one is left above all others, and the losers can never play soccer again. This week, Matt, Sam, Jae, and Jacob read and discuss Blue Lock written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura .

Momo and Okarun celebrate the return of one of his lost testicles from enemy-turned-friend Aira Shiratori, however Aira wants to elevate her relationship status from Side Girl to Main Girl. Okarun winds up in a misunderstanding, which lulls Momo Ayase into a negetive headspace as her safe nerdy not-boyfriend is being pursued by someone she can't stand. Taking advantage of the negative energy, aliens use the Loch Ness Monster to launch an invasion attempt to steal Okarun sweet man bits. Look, no one ever promised that Dandadan could be summerized without sounding like a madman.
