Jim and Owen discuss if Josh Allen and James Cook can dethrown AFC Champions Drake Maye and the New England Patriots
#BILLS #BillsMafia #BuffaloBills #BillsNation #BillsNews #JoshAllen #dailynews
Sunday’s AFC East opener at Highmark Stadium has the feel of a season-shaping afternoon. The Buffalo Bills, 3-0 and riding the league’s highest-scoring offense, host the New England Patriots, 1-2 and still searching for the form that carried them to an AFC East title and a Super Bowl appearance last season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on CBS in Orchard Park, with the Bills favored by about six and a half points in the first Patriots visit to the new Highmark Stadium.
Josh Allen is again playing at an MVP clip. Through three games he has thrown for 786 yards and five touchdowns while Buffalo averages 33.7 points. He closed last week with a 24-16 win over the Chargers despite three of Buffalo’s five turnovers, a reminder of the competitive stamina coach Joe Brady keeps citing. James Cook remains the engine of the ground game after a 154-yard outing, and the pass rush is led by Greg Rousseau, who already has a league-high six sacks and three forced fumbles. Bradley Chubb, Ed Oliver, and Deone Walker give that front real depth. Keon Coleman (ankle) and D.J. Moore (shoulder) are among the names to watch on the injury report.
Drake Maye has not yet matched last year’s form. He has one touchdown pass against six interceptions and a lost fumble, and New England’s offense has managed only two offensive touchdowns in three games. Mike Vrabel has urged his quarterback to loosen his grip and simply play. The run game is the clearest path forward: Rhamondre Stevenson, who needs only a modest afternoon to climb the franchise rushing list, and TreVeyon Henderson must create balance against a Bills defense that has been vulnerable on the ground. Hunter Henry offers a reliable target in the middle. The offensive line is thinner after Mike Onwenu and Greg Van Roten landed on injured reserve, and New England has already allowed nine sacks. Christian Gonzalez, Christian Barmore, and Morgan Moses were limited or absent early in the week.
Recent history favors chaos. New England won in Buffalo last season and rode that result toward the division title; Buffalo answered with a 35-31 December win in Foxborough. Over the last four meetings the average margin has been only about four points, even though the all-time series still belongs to the Patriots, 80-52-1. A Buffalo win would open a three-game division lead. A Patriots upset would reset a season that has already included a Super Bowl rematch loss in Seattle and a 35-6 defeat in Jacksonville.
Expect Allen to test New England’s secondary early, Stevenson and Henderson to try to shorten the game, and Rousseau to hunt Maye behind a patched-up line. In this rivalry, records rarely settle the argument before the fourth quarter.

Rivals at the Table is the weekly AFC East podcast built for people who live inside the division and are tired of hearing outsiders explain it to them. Once a week, voices from the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and New York Jets sit down at the same table—hosted by Overreaction Buffalo—to go over last week’s games and look ahead to the next ones. No national talking points. No polite distance. Just four rivals who know the schemes, the slights, the coaching staffs, and the standings because they have to.Every episode starts with the tape from the previous Sunday (and Monday). Who actually won the game versus who won the press conference. Which coaching decision aged well by Monday morning and which one is already being walked back. The Bills side will defend a late-game sequence the other three call reckless. The Dolphins voice will argue that a flashy stat line hid a real problem. The Patriots representative will treat a one-score loss like a moral victory until someone at the table refuses to let it slide. The Jets take will usually land somewhere between “we’re close” and “stop saying we’re close.” The point isn’t consensus. The point is that each team has to answer for its week in front of the other three. Then the show turns to next week. Remaining schedules get mapped against current form. Injury news is treated as either an excuse or an opportunity, depending on whose locker room it came from. Must-win labels get assigned and immediately disputed. Division games on the horizon get extra time because everyone at the table understands that beating a rival counts twice. Listeners hear how Buffalo sees Miami’s offense this week, how New England reads the Jets’ front, and how the Dolphins think the Patriots will try to slow the game down. It is scouting plus grievance, delivered in the same conversation.Overreaction Buffalo keeps the hour from turning into four separate podcasts. The host sets the board, forces follow-ups, and makes sure no team hides behind a talking point for the full episode. The tone is loud, specific, and unapologetically local. If you care about the AFC East, you already know these arguments. This show just puts them in one place, every week, with all four sides in the room.Come for last week’s scoreboard. Stay for next week’s fight.#BillsMafia #GoBills #FinsUp #MiamiDolphins #Patriots #GoPats #Jets #GangGreen #AFCEast #RivalsAtTheTable

Josh Allen and Joe Brady and all of the Buffalo Bills lockerroom would tell you a win is a win…but there’s a LOT to unpack after this one.
The Buffalo Bills remain unbeaten after taking down the Los Angeles Chargers at home, but the final score doesn’t tell the whole story. On this episode of The Aftermath, former Buffalo Bills offensive linemen Jerry Ostroski and John Fina join Zig Fracassi to go beyond the immediate postgame reactions and take a deeper look at what went right, what went wrong, and what Buffalo needs to clean up moving forward.
The guys break down the Bills’ offensive execution, the battles in the trenches, Josh Allen and the passing game, the impact of James Cook, defensive adjustments, coaching decisions, and the mistakes that made this game much more difficult than it needed to be.
Buffalo got the win; but did the Chargers expose some issues that could become bigger problems down the road? Or is finding a way to win when everything isn’t clicking exactly what championship-caliber teams do?

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are 3-0, but this one was anything but pretty.
On this edition of the Overreaction Buffalo Postgame Show, the guys give their immediate reactions after the Bills somehow pull out a win over the Los Angeles Chargers in a game where seemingly EVERYTHING went wrong.
From mistakes and missed opportunities to questionable execution, momentum swings, and way too many penalties, Buffalo spent much of the game making life difficult on themselves. But when it mattered most, the Bills found a way to survive, finish the job, and walk away with another victory.
The guys break down Josh Allen and the offense, James Cook’s impact, the biggest turning points, the Bills defense, coaching decisions, and the moments that ultimately decided the game. Was this simply an ugly win, or did Buffalo reveal some issues that could become a problem as the season progresses?

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are 2-0, the offense is rolling, and now Josh Allen and company welcome Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers to Highmark Stadium Sunday afternoon. Buffalo enters Week 3 averaging an NFL-best 38.5 points per game and more than seven yards per play, while Los Angeles comes to Orchard Park at 0-2 after consecutive 26-14 losses.
On this episode of the Overreaction Buffalo Sports Report, the guys break down everything you need to know before kickoff. Can Joe Brady’s explosive offense keep rolling against a Chargers defense that has struggled against the pass? Can James Cook keep Buffalo balanced and force Los Angeles to choose between stopping the run and containing Josh Allen? And what does Jim Harbaugh have planned to slow down an offense that has been one of the NFL’s most efficient through two weeks?
The guys give their keys to the game, players to watch, matchup advantages and score predictions as Buffalo looks to defend its home turf and improve to 3-0.
