Airplanes got a lot of attention this past week after some food messes and a screaming grown man got everyone on social media talking. White men remind us just how hormonal they are as the backlash against Bud Light rages on. A bus driver in Colorado fucked around & found out when it came to “teaching a lesson” to a bus full of kids. We gossip about the internet’s recent hot topics and talk about how annoying it is that the weird shit that goes on around us can be so funny.
We’re back! And it’s for good this time!!
We couldn’t dive right into what’s happening in the world without first focusing on all things Scandoval. We revisit Schwartz’s WWHL episode, breakdown Sandoval’s podcast appearance and marvel over the chaos that is the current season. Maria has watched 5 more SEASONS since we last recorded about VPR and we are ready to share all of our opinions and stick up for our favs. We will back Monday with our usual nonsense: keeping you up to date on the world while (hopefully) keeping you laughing.

We’re back! Ironically cheating was already on the podcast docket when a real life cheating scandal rocked Tawny’s world. We make our return with a break down of the Vanderpump Rules chaos and react to the news. We attempt to unravel the messiness and it all comes back to where this weeks topic generated: is cheating abusive behavior?

Chrissy Tiegen made a fool of Trump (again), Rihanna performed the Half Time show while pregnant and we can’t even remember what day it is; they must be working for the devil. Penn Badgely decided he is done with sex scenes which opens up the convos of fidelity, boundaries and the importance of intimacy coaches on film sets. We explore some of the creepy kisses that have taken place on sets and also reminisce on our own first kisses. If your vagina had controllable teeth: would you use them for good? Tawny and Maria discuss how they’d use vagina dentata and how it has come to life in the form of the Rape-aXe device.
The Grammy’s managed to bring out the Devil Worshipper in us all and had Maria dreaming about a possible comeback for shoulder pads. Tawny wonders why Leo DiCaprio is dating a teenager and accidentally ends up fantasizing about a possible relationship between her and Channing Tatum. Most weeks we’re raging feminists and this week is no different as we dive into how pregnancy and illness can change your body & what happens when shitty people comment on it. Is sexting a way to blur lines or set boundaries? We debate the pros & cons before discussing why sex workers need a union, how feet pics changed Maria’s perspective and if we truly believe there’s a match out there for everyone.
TLC’s new show Milf Manor has Tawny and Maria unpacking dating age gaps, internal misogyny and the suppression of women in the 90s. Tawny reflects on ways the boys were allowed to make the girls uncomfortable when she was in school and how weird it is to look back on. Maria talks about what it was like being a young mom who spent a lot of time with teen boys and the types of behaviors she wish she wouldn’t have overlooked. Tawny is convinced that growing up on only sitcoms ruined Maria’s ability to enjoy television and the battle of “how terrible is reality TV” returns. We also touch on the demonization of Pamela Anderson, why 20 something men are undesirable and what Maria’s dating boundaries really are.
This week we welcome our first guest of 2023: Trina Dolan. Trina’s whole life changed very quickly when she became a mother at just fifteen years old. She opens up about the fear, trauma and joys of being a teen mom. We dive into toxic parenting, dangerous stigmas in society and whether or not babies can be born with anxiety. Trina shares the highs and lows of working at a daycare and we explore the ways childcare is undervalued and taken advantage of. From dream journals to hangovers: nothing is off limits; we hope you enjoy this hour with Trina as much as we did!

The Golden Globes put an abuser on a pedestal, M&Ms have become non-binary and alpha men make no impact at all.. on anything. Maria reminisces on a night romance went very, very wrong back in 91. Tawny talks about revelations that help make sense of her childhood while also complicating the healing process. Society gives the impression that people are either good or bad but the reality is that we’re all just people: dealing with a given moment. Tawny and Maria explore allllll the gray and how it impacts the way we see the world.

We’re back and ready to overshare in 2023! We run through some of the hot topics we haven’t had a chance to gossip about yet including the Internet turning on Megan thee Stallion, Andrew Tate’s arrest and some family pics from Tom Brady. Maria opens up a conversation about perspective and reminds parents to consider power imbalances when dealing with their small (& adult) children. Depression had Tawny in a slump recently and she talks about how different an emotional funk can look for different people. Which is worse: giving bad people a platform or spreading awareness through highlighting a bad person? We discuss the pros & cons of both.
Trigger Warning: We discuss suicide & depression in the beginning of this podcast.

We’re still here (and we’re a little tongue tied 😩🙃) This week we were rocked by the news of Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss’ death. Twitch was an absolute joy to watch and his death has many reflecting on what a person in crisis really looks like. Netflix released a new documentary highlighting the lengths people will go to to appease authority and it has us shook. Don’t Pick Up the Phone revisits a string of hoax calls across the country that had fast food managers doing some really questionable things. As usual, the Internet has Tawny frustrated with the lack of critical thinking used when discussing the differences between men & women and she explores the roots of toxic masculinity. The women reflect on how we’re conditioned to accept certain behaviors and why it’s so easy to think we’re doing okay when we’re really in danger. With the world being so heavy it’s hard to find the balance between staying informed & staying sane; Tawny and Maria try to find the happy medium & open up about how it affects the podcast.
