Zach Arnold's editing career was on overdrive. His work on shows such as Cobra Kai, Glee, and Burn Notice was garnering him major awards, including an Emmy. Meanwhile, this conversation with David was very inspiring as it presents a whole new way of looking at documentary films.  He used a combination of Final Cut Pro and text driven editing/research using Lumberjack System's Builder. Isn’t it wonderful when creativity can be used to benefit global cultural and scientific issues? As David puts it, “What if video interviews could be used not only for video production, but also as a form of data to be analyzed and gain a more in-depth understanding of the knowledge participants are sharing?”

In order to deliver both his film and academic research, Borish adapted and repurposed the coding, searching, and filtering tools within two distinct video-editing software: Final Cut Pro and Lumberjack Builder.  I very much enjoy speaking with intelligent and forward-thinking people and I believe you will enjoy this conversation!
