Today on the 5: The Matrix Resurrections is out, and I have watched it. Is this a sequel with something to say, or a perfect example of an unnecessary followup to a highly regarded franchise? The answer is yes.

Today on the 5: Over the weekend I watched the new reboot of the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City. While the title is absolutely terrible, the movie itself isn't too bad.

Today on the 5: I recently watched a Jaws parody that I did not expect to enjoy as much as I did. The movie is called Blades, and it has some legitimately funny moments.

Today on the 5: Just in time for Christmas, I watched 1980's Christmas Evil. I expected a silly Santa slasher, but what I got was something far more interesting.

Today on the 5: I followed the uneven Elvira movie with what ended up being a similar tonal whirlwind, 1988's Deep Space. A movie that ricochets this hard between good and bad is anything but boring.

Today on the 5: Over the weekend I watched Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark, which I had never seen before. As an Elvira fan, I wish I could tell you I enjoyed it more. I won't say it's bad, but it could have been a lot better.
