Today on the 5: The Department Of Justice finally announced a long anticipated antitrust suit against Apple. Many will be debating what the end result of the suit will be, but I'm of the same mindset as Andy Ihnatko in feeling that the real value of it may be a rare glimpse into Apple's inner workings.  

Today on the 5: Ahead of the US election season and in the midst of a flood of machine generated imagery, YouTube is introducing a new disclosure requirement for uploaded content. It's called "Altered Content", and I think it presents some potentially tough questions on what "altered" means.

Today on the 5: There has been a lot of discussion over the news that Don Lemon lost a Twitter distribution deal for his interview show after he asked Elon Musk some pointed questions. While I'm certainly no fan of Musk, I'm not sure why anyone is upset over this.

Today on the 5: Over the weekend I watched Black Cat, a 1991 action film that started out as an attempt to follow up La Femme Nikita. While it still feels very much like a remake of the 1990 French film, it works very well as a Hong Kong flavored version of that story.

Today on the 5: Here are a couple of things you've likely heard someone say at some point in your life: "That's the world we live in" or "That's just the way it is". Usually, these phrases are used as a lazy and apathetic way to excuse something that shouldn't be. They also never fail to drive me crazy.

Today on the 5: Thanks to a recommendation from Roejen over at Project Archivist, I watched a Batman ripoff film from 1966 titled The Wide World Of Batwoman. It looks like it was made for $50 and a 5 page script, but if you want to see a bunch of young women go go dancing and marvel at the global threat of an atomic hearing aid you're in for a good time!
