Today on the 5: Thanks to a fantastic Discord acquiantance, I was alerted to a surprise release from musician Aphex Twin. It's titled Music From The Merch Desk (2016-2023), and if I ever needed an album to give someone who had never heard his music, this would be it.

Today on the 5: I rarely have good things to say about either streaming services in general or Apple in particular, but that's not the case today. I read the news about Apple committing to giving the series Silo two more seasons before it ends, and it made me wish other companies would do this more often.

Today on the 5: YouTube TV is raising prices on their streaming service again. While a lot of folks are getting hung up on the fact that the price hike was denied just a few days earlier, what strikes me about the price increase is that the service in now more expensive than some cable plans.

Today on the 5: For the latest episode of Len Kabasinski's Forgotten Movie Den, I watched a delightful movie from 1989 titled Elves. It may be one of the finest examples of a movie that you'll watch and continually wonder how it ever got made. I loved it!

Today on the 5: I recently found out that the Albert Pyun film Cyborg was originally cut as a much different film, even though all the core elements remained the same. I managed to view his Director's Cut of the movie titled Slinger, and it is a wild experience.

Today on the 5: I was able to take a trip to The Commonwealth Club in San Francisco to see Jeff Jarvis in conversation about some of the topics in his latest book, The Web We Weave. The event was titled Jeff Jarvis: How We Reclaim the Internet, and I would recommend watching it if you're interested in the what the futuere of the web could look like.

Today on the 5: Lando mentioned to me that he had watched the first episode of the new Star Wars series Skeleton Crew. I barely knew anything about it, but after he described it as "Star Wars but pirates" I was intrigued enough to check it out.
