We got to hear from Aaron Rodgers and his long interview on the Pat McAfee show listen in for the highlights. The Packers have lost 4 starters from last year which could be really beneficial for the Packers moving forward. What have the Packers done so far in free agency? After some disagreement on a few things, the Packers and Jets seem to have a deal pretty close to done for the trade of Aaron Rodgers, they are just waiting to hear if Aaron Rodgers would rather retire. Bakhtiari won't be a part of that trade to the Jets though as his contract has been restructured to stay in Green Bay through the 2024 season. The Packers have opened up $24M in cap space because they believe they can make a Super Bowl push in a weak NFC, which players are the best bargains for the Packers and could help the Packers build a Super Bowl roster in 2023. 

This Aaron Rodgers trade is going down soon. The Packers just gained a lot of leverage in trade talks with the Jets as Derek Carr has officially signed with the Saints, hopefully helping the Packers get as much back in return in a trade. But Lamar Jackson also just got the non exclusive tag, which could lower the ultimate ceiling of draft picks we could receive back in a trade sadly. This trade is going down sooner rather than later as all of the Jets main decision makers flew out to CA to speak with Aaron Rodgers in person as of Tuesday afternoon. 

Gutekunst has been very busy as of lately. At his press conference on Tuesday we heard from him and by saying not much at all he really said a lot about Aaron Rodgers future in GB, while also having a lot of faith in the future of Jordan Love. While the QB situation is not settled yet, the Packers are setting up for whoever at QB to have great players around them with plenty of salary cap space to make some moves to help make this team great in 2023. By restructuring four major contracts already the Packers now have $17M of cap space with other moves still left to be made that number could go all the way up to around $33M. 

The Packers have begun to make some serious roster moves, but without any news on Aaron Rodgers. What does this mean for Aaron Rodgers? If the Packers trade Aaron Rodgers, why might it be best to acquire 2024 1st round picks rather then 2023 1st round picks.
