Padres Hot Tub

Craig Elsten and Chris Reed get together and discuss:

• AJ Preller again avoiding arbitration with all of his players, and the possible positive knock-on effects
• The signing of international #1 prospect Ethan Salas
• (Craig Stammen)

Then, the guys look at next year's contracts and ask two questions:

• Who MUST the Padres re-sign out of their crop of impending free agents, and
• Can SD put together enough expiring contracts to really pursue Shohei Ohtani?

Lastly, the guys go through some simple childhood fandom questions to learn more about each others' baseball upbringing.

Craig Elsten and Chris Reed get together on the Padres Hot Tub Patreon Discord stage to talk about the club's signing of Nelson Cruz, the possible true purpose of bringing "Boomstick" to San Diego, Carlos Correa settling in Minnesota, and much more!

Members of the Padres Hot Tub Patreon community receive our interview podcast, Have a Drink, weekly in their podcast feed. This week, we're unlocking Have a Drink for all subscribers, in order to better introduce Chris Reed. Chris, a working actor best known for his multi-season role on Sons of Anarchy, has been a member of the PHT community for a while now. Craig Elsten and Chris have a real conversation about the ups and downs of working in Hollywood searching for gigs, and each reveal their weirdest moment at a gig.

Chris will be joining Craig for the next PHT baseball podcast next week, please enjoy this conversation as a get-to-know-you!

Craig Elsten opened up the PHT Group Therapy stage on Friday night for patrons to say their goodbyes to John Gennaro, and to talk about the future of the community.

Craig and John get together one last time to talk about the San Diego Padres. They go through the news around the league regarding guys that we hoped might sign with the Padres before digging through A.J. Cassavell's predictions for the upcoming season.

Craig and John aren't done yet! The guys get together at John's house to talk through the San Diego Padres signing Matt Carpenter, Pedro Severino and Seth Lugo.

You can expect VERY little baseball conversation in this episode. Instead, John explains why he's leaving Padres Hot Tub and talks with Craig about what the future of the podcast/community might be without him.

While Craig and John were podcasting about the MLB Winter Meetings and the Padres striking out on Trea Turner and Aaron Judge, news broke that the team signed star SS Xander Bogaerts to an 11-year deal and sent the podcast off the rails.

Craig and John talk about the news coming out of the first day of the MLB Winter Meetings, including Trea Turner signing with the Philadelphia Phillies for $300M and the news that the San Diego Padres had offered him more.
