The legendary Samuel L. Jackson has said that he wants to return as Jedi Master Mace Windu in some way. I personally would not want him to have survived his final fight with Palpatine. Why? Because I do not like Mace Windu. I'm not talking about acting, directing, and writing. I'm talking about a character so bound up in dogma that he has forgotten what the doctrine of the Jedi was all about. Join me as I share why Master Windu represents everything wrong with the Jedi Order of the Prequel Era.
On this week's episode of Random Trek, Captain Ingle and I set a course for the 23rd century and the adventures of the USS Enterprise. On this installment of The Original Series, Captain James T. Kirk goes on the warpath after a Federation outpost on Cestus III is destroyed by a species known as the Gorn. While in pursuit of the latter, Kirk is whisked off the bridge of the Enterprise and deposited on a nearby planetoid by the powerful entities called the Metrons in order to settle the dispute with the Gorn! Joining us to discuss this classic episode of Star Trek is returning guest Scott "Movie" Mantz. Join us as we go boldly!
*SPOILERS AHEAD* In The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian Season 3 we see flashbacks of Grogu's time at the Jedi Temple during the massacre that is Palpatine's Order 66. In Chapter 20 of The Mandalorian, entitled "The Foundling" (directed by the late Carl Weathers), Grogu is rescued from the violence by Jedi Master Kelleran Beq and brought to safety aboard a Naboo starship. Where are they going? That's the question for today. Join me as I responsibly speculate as to their destination.
There was a report (which may or may not be true) that the Mandalorian & Grogu movie which was announced a few weeks ago may start filming on June 17. As always, we must take these things with a grain of salt, but if this report is true, we could be seeing Star Wars' triumphant return to movie theaters sooner than later. Join me as I explore the possibility of what the future holds for that galaxy far, far away...
With the 96th Academy Awards a month away, I thought I would bring in an Oscar expert to discuss the nominees. Joining me today to examine this year's most decorated films is the co-host of the YouTube movie show Oscar Buzz, my friend Trevor Matteson.
This week on our show, Captain Ingle and I set a course for the mid-23rd century and the continuing voyages of the USS Enterprise under the command of the intrepid Captain Christopher Pike. On this particular adventure, the crew of the USS Cayuga as well as the Enterprise's own Nurse Christine Chapel are trapped on the planet Parnassus Beta when the insidious Gorn invade, and it's up to our heroes to mount a rescue before it's too late! Join us as we go boldly!
I was about to discuss a different topic this morning when I was blindsided by the sad news of the passing of legendary action star and Greef Karga himself, Carl Weathers, who died on Tuesday at the age of 76. When he was announced as a member of the cast of The Mandalorian in 2019, it seemed so strange that we had gone so long without Apollo Creed as a part of the Star Wars saga, as it seemed such a perfect fit. Join me as I pay my respects to a great star...
Strange as it may sound, we are coming up on the 10 year anniversary of The Force Awakens. One of the best-remembered moments in the film is the murder of Han Solo by his son Ben AKA Kylo Ren. Join with me as I discuss why this very sad moment works so well for the stories and character journeys of Ben, Han, and the Sequel Trilogy as a whole.
Once upon a time a galaxy very, very near, a young filmmaker wanted to make a feature film version of the classic Flash Gordon comics and movie serials. His inability to secure the rights, while disappointing, caused the young filmmaker to instead create a story of his own. And the rest, as they say, is history!
We are a month into the new year, and we are coming ever closer to the Star Wars shows promised to us by Lucasfilm. The third and final season of The Bad Batch begins in less than a month, and the mystery-thriller The Acolyte and the Amblin-esque Skeleton Crew are supposedly coming later in the year. Join me as I discuss my anticipation for further stories in that galaxy far, far away...
