Yesterday saw the release of Tales of the Jedi, a six-episode animated anthology series following the adventures of Padawan Ahsoka Tano and young Jedi Master Dooku. The episodes involving Ahsoka are snippets of her life and progression in the Force, whereas the episodes involving Dooku show his eventual degeneration into the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus. Ever since that line was uttered, fans have been fascinated by the ancient history of the Star Wars galaxy. In the 1990's, Dark Horse released many comics set in this time period, and other media followed suit in the years afterwards. Earlier this week we reached the midway point of Season 1 of Andor, and boy was it amazing. As things currently stand, Andor may be poised to be the greatest live-action Star Wars series, and perhaps even some of the best Star Wars content ever. It seems to me that Andor is an overwhelmingly well-received by the fandom in general, which is a welcome relief to those of us who were tired of the discourse surrounding The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi. There is one problem though: fans of Andor frequently accuse the creators of the aforementioned shows of not caring about their products while praising the creators of Andor. Join with me as I explain why I believe this is a flawed argument, and unfair to those who created the divisive shows.

The recent release of Andor got me thinking about how much range the Star Wars franchise has. Watching Mon Mothma argue with her awful husband, or seeing Cassian shoot a police officer is a far cry from seeing Jar Jar Binks stepping in poo on the streets of Mos Espa. Star Wars is at its core a fantasy about knights and magic, and yet it also has room for the "grounded and gritty". Join me as I discuss this amazing breadth of storytelling.

At the recent Star Wars Celebration Anaheim (which I attended!), Lucasfilm announced Skeleton Crew, a new Star Wars show in the tradition of 80's Amblin films such as E.T., Gremlins, and The Goonies. A year or two ago, a rumor was floating around the interwebs that Lucasfilm was planning a "Stranger Things meets Star Wars" show set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian.
