In this week's episode, Emily and Michelle investigate and share their feelings about the get-rich-quick "industry" of drop shipping. This also marks the 3rd consecutive episode where wine is consumed while recording... you're welcome.
In this week's episode, Michelle and Emily invite you to join them (and Emily's husband, Josh Wentz) for a very special on-location recording at Chez Simo in Ravenswood. Like true small business owners, we multi-task recording a new episode while also celebrating Emily's 40th birthday! After two bottles of wine and some crème brûlée and chocolate mousse, we're not entirely sure what we talked about, but you can bet there was talk about craft shows, Etsy, social media and stuff we hate.

Yes, you're seeing that right... this week's episode is OVER TWO HOURS LONG. So, grab a glass of rosé and some strawberry shortcake (like Michelle and Emily did) and get comfortable. After we rant about politics and feminism for over a half an hour, we finally get to the really good stuff: shout-outs of stuff we love all made by independent businesses!
Here’s another episode where Michelle and Emily talk about a bunch of shit and get really grumpy... and then there was some talk about business.
Emily and Michelle finally dive into the topic of work/life balance. They review some not-so-helpful tips on how to achieve "balance" between your work and your personal life... only to conclude that this nonsense doesn’t really apply to self-employed people.
This week Emily and Michelle join Sophia Reyes at her studio and record the behind-the-scenes conversations during set up and take down of their annual Sample Sale. Emily isn't thrilled with a popular small business meme, Michelle talks about her recent experience at the Crafty Supermarket in Cincinnati, OH, and Sophia- well, she’s still counting her money!
In this special on location episode, Emily and Michelle record in the lobby of the Holiday Inn in downtown Chicago before checking out the One of a Kind Show at the Merchandise Mart. They mostly talk about OrangeBeautiful's event, Show of Hands Chicago (and why's it's better than all other events!), before doing some quick interviews on the OoaK showroom floor. Interviews include Danielle from Soap Distillery, Joshua and Kelsey from Green Beetle Shop and (of course) Mark and Stephen from Edgewater Candles.
