Beyond Music is the latest brainchild from Regula Curti, co-founder of The Beyond Foundation. Beyond Music is an online platform for musicians. You can go to the site BeyondMusic.org and join for free, then look for musical collaborators anywhere in the world, and connect!

Collaborating with Larry Klein as Producer and creative partner, The Beyond Music Project has released it’s first album, Same Sky.

Artists from around the world co-created across time and space, eventually gathering at Studio La Fabrique in the south of France to record  Same Sky, a collection of songs created in honor of the spirit of going beyond our perceived limitations, as a world.

Baruch spoke with Regula and Larry about the project, it’s inspirations, the recording sessions, and what Beyond Music is planning for the future.

Baruch welcomes Lilli Lewis back to Paradigms. The Lilli Lewis Project has released a brilliant new record We Belong which we’ll be discussing and listening to.

Lilli is a person who is deeply inspired, who takes time to delve into and explore her inspirations. As a result the music that is brought forth is also deep and exploratory, bringing past and present musical flavors together in an act of creation.

Lilli’s inspirations from the world are imbued with a sense of, maybe a longing for, community. Common Unity. Lilli and her ensemble embrace a practice called Radical Decency, which Lilli explains during the interview.

Staci Griesbach grew up listening to country music. Later in life she discovered that she loved jazz, so it was a natural progression for Staci to bring these two genres together. The result is My Patsy Cline Songbook an album of Patsy Cline songs reinterpreted through jazz.

Staci is a pro. She assembled a group of brilliant musicians to record this music, brought in 3 talented arrangers, and now the record is out and Staci is taking this show on the road to Los Angeles and Nashville!

Moken is a Camaroonian musician, now based in Atlanta Georgia. He’s just released a record called Missing Chapters, which came through him after a period of particular challenge and difficulty. His story is inspiring! Baruch and Moken discuss his story, the music, and the world.

Moken says “This is a feelings album. Whatever felt right, we kept it,” reflects Moken. “This album has given me the musical wings I always wanted, the wings to fly and create.”

Aaron English is a Seattle native who is a musician, an artist, a humanitarian, an explorer, and more. Baruch caught up with Aaron between trips to talk about music and the world.

Aaron has released 4 albums of music so far, and also is the founder of the International Youth Music Project which was formed to support Aaron’s work with orphans & HIV/AIDS+ kids in Kenya & Uganda.

We’ll be listening to Aaron’s music as we enjoy the conversation between Aaron and Baruch.

Coniece Washington has just released a tribute record Shades of Shirley Horn that will knock your socks off. Her voice is smooth and rich, the musicians are top notch, the production is clear and full, you’re going to love it.

Coniece grew up singing and dancing. She has developed her craft to the point that she felt ready to tackle some of her favorite music, and she does it justice.

The conversation is lively and fun. Coniece is a very warm person with a sense of humor and a deep respect for the music.

Raine Geohegan is an actor, dancer, singer, mother, wife. Raine has also come through a severe physical illness. She has a great story about how she has accessed healing through the exploration of her Romany heritage, through connecting with her ancestors.

Raine’s has written a book of poetry, Apple Water: Povel Panni celebrating her Romany family and culture. We get to hear Raine read some of her poetry and tell us about her family and what has happened to Roma people in the UK.

We’ll be listening to Roma music and learning about the changes that have been foisted upon some traveling people.
